I posted a query on the nmims website regarding the status of students who were planning to take a late NMATOnline.
The one word reply was "NO", this was to the question whether the students who hav not enrolled for NMATOnline will get a chance.

So please dont regret, they too loose out on good candidates who were willing to take the online thing.

I got mails from the Registrar (the mail ID was that atleast).

"As per a recent directive from the University Grants Commission, Ministry of HRD, Government of India, all management institutes have to give admissions to students on the basis of one of the 5 tests selected by the UGC. Since NMATonLine is not one of those tests, NMIMS is cancelling all the on-line tests with immediate effect.
If any student has sent the DD to the test centre or at NMIMS, and not taken the test then he or she will get a refund of the same. In case any student has not yet submitted the DD, then please do not submit it."
