convert mat score to cet score

hi all,
1) I have heard that we can convert the mat score to cet score and apply to cet institutes. i know it sounds stupid but still i want to confirm.

2) what is the mat composite score required to get into ALLIANCE BUSINESS ACADEMY?

dude MAT SCORE OF MIN 80%ILE is required 4 alliance

yes mat scores can be converted into CET scores

but u have to be phodu in MAT to have a god score in CET

score of 99 percentile is converted into 118-120 in cet.

anything below 97 percentile is converted into around 50 so u have to be fodu.....

hi all.. i c a lot of misunderstanding out here...
there is a confusion which needs to be cleared...

in CET.. there is a quota called OMS (outside maharashtra state)
for OMS students... there is a facility tht instead of appearin for the written test of CET.. they can give score of ne of the 5 all india tests like CAT,XAT,JMET,MAT...

so u can give MAT score for CET...
the conversion of MAT score to CET is different for every yr...

the whole point is.. ur %ile is considered... if u have a 98%ile in MAT then ur score vil be equal to the score of a person who has 98%ile in written test of CET of tht yr itself...

the score vil change every yr as per the difficulty level of exam and how students perform...
so as sum 1 said above tht 99 %ile is arnd 118-120..is dewfinitely wrong...
it cannot be stated rite now wat can be ur score for ne %ile... after the results of written test of CET every yr.. u can calculate the score by ur percentile...

hope tht clears the doubt...

but in ne case.. if ur lookin for top 4 colleges of CET.i.e JB,sydnm,kjsom,well.... then u goota have arnd 99.9 %ile..
the cut offs r really very high...

first get ur score converted than if its above 90 than apply for PUMBA like coll.
cos coll. like SIMSHREE, KJ Somaiya requires higher score


the other way i can help u is this that i can tell u the cutoff required by coll. for final admission.

see pumba needs some 150
SIMSHREE some 160-165
KJ same as SIMSHREE

they have devoted around 80 marks to GD/PI

now its up to u how much u score there

say if u score 40 in GD /PI than and MAT conversion of 90 total of 130 , u wont be selected.

so decide urself.

other way u can take mat again in DEC. or FEB. score 99 %le than apply to CET coll.s cos applying process starts in APRIL mid or END so u have plenty of time.

it was me who stated that 99%le is arnd 118-120

i said 'AROUND '

cos last year friend of mine converted 99.6 %le into 120
and it is almost same every yr.

cet UNLIKE cat follow almost same pattern of question/difficulty level so it will remain almost same ... may b a diff. of around 5 marks ...

u are rite its too early to comment for exact fig. but its good to have a rough idea.

so what i said was last yr story....

dude... thts a gr8 misconception...

i vil tel u wat... and i can bet onit...

last to last yr... final cutoff for JB for OMS category was 163/240... this is marks..

last yr it was 183/240... final cutoff for JB for OMs candidate....

now u c the difference of 20 marks there.... last yr paper was comparatively much easier than last to last yr papaer....

so for ur kind information... there is no 5 mark difference here...
things changed drastically this yr... highest person in OMS category last yr had 191/240... and last to last yr.. it was arnd 170...

so a lot depends on difficulty level...and the student population....
last to last yr... arnd 28000 students appeared for CET... last yr it was 41000+ students...

if u know how percentiles r calculated.. u vil know how much difference it makes when so many ppl join the crowd....

i m damn sure of al the facts n figures stated above.... have myself given CET for past 2 yr and experienced it...
i hope things r clear now...
jus to maintain the sancity of this forum....
plz avaoid postin unless ur damn sure of the facts.. as a lot of ppl view these pages n thir opinion and decisions bout future depends on a lot on this.....

dude.. again... as far as CET is concerned...
both GD and PI r for 17 marks each... and not 40 +40=80...

may be ur talkin bout the PG course..im talkin bout the MMS course...
as this thread relates to CET....
