Problem with XAT date of exam

Hello,
As we all know that XAT is going to be held on 7th January. Now the problem I am facing is that my exams are going to be held at the same time. To be more precise my exams are from 26th December,2006 to 20th January,2007. The schedule is not yet put up but I can certainly say that there are a number of holidays between the exams. I am sure there are many of them who are facing similar problems. Now could some one tell me is it advisable to apply for the XAT exam amidst my exams? I think I need atleast one week to prepare as the CAT preparations may aid us.

obviously apply.... anyways the exam would be held on sunday so u can always appear. as per the preparation, do you need to mug up for the xat? its not like a college exam its more a test of your aptitude and attitude.. being an aspiring manager, you should be ready to handle such situations. ur cat prep will anyway take care of all your needs. so go ahead relax and start preparing from now itself.

Okay I agree that the XAT is the test of aptitude and attitude. But what by chance if I have my exams on 6th and 8th leaving just one day to prepare for the semester exam. I am just assuming the worst case.

if that is your problem, approach the college authorities for the same. I'm sure you would be knowing your priorities and what to do. But believe me there are a lot of people with such scenarios as yours either with cat, xl or some other exam... and its your college authorities who have to make this decision, if they insist on this worst case scenario, its your call as to what to do. but trust me, you should be prpeared for these things bec once you get into a b-school, you'll realise how many exams and ppts you need to give in what constraints... also in corporate life, where these things are just pretty very normal. take such a scenario as a prep for these future challenges that you'll have to face sooner or the other, there no escape then. Also, I hope you're not obsessed with the college exams.

Thanks!! I think you really solved my problem. Thanks again. Did you go through the problem with CAT application form which I posted in the CAT and related discussion? The title is "Problem with CAT application form". Since you are in IIMB, I think you can help me better.
