However, I would advice you all not to worry anything about the JMET quant as of now .. You will have some time after CAT.. Make good use of that ... Studyin higher mathematics now .. is really not a good idea.. and will hamper your CAT preparations ...

Just a weird thought....
If out of every 10 aspirats, 9 leave the Quants section without seeing it....Would there still be a cutoff
Approx no. off ppl giving JMET:17000
No. called: Upto Rank2000 (Most of them...: B & D Close at arnd 400)
So Cutoff is relevant only for the Top IIT's I guess....Lets C...Difficulty level definitely stepped up by the thinkers in contention..!!

I don't think that even if there IS a sectional Cutoff in JMET, it wud be very less....Higher maths is alien to many of the test takers too 
Nd seing the difficulty level for last 2 years, I don't think it is going to go beyond 4-5 marks at all

Things on the move this time around....everyone is trying to be dynamic...good to see that.
Guys, dont worry abt the quant cut offs at this moment.....concentrate on CAT and the basic maths right now....Divertin gur mind towards higer maths is not gonna do any good to u. Plus, there are basic maths questions as well in JMET...so its not all hihger maths n stuff...
In fact, I concentrated on the basic maths questions only mostly last year...and i guess i did well having got a good rank and a final convert......So just chill right now and dont get worked up coz of the sectinal cut offs.

Keep rocking... | strongly agree... in fact i presume with the entry of non-engineers into the race as well, i hope that the emphasis on higher maths may come down. and even in last years paper there were easily 10-12 ques of cat level quant. so no point trying to do something which you are too uncomfortable with..
Evene though, i seriously feel, its gonna be a much tougher time this time around..
Another point to be noted is that this denotes a paradigm shift in the attitude at IITs. first the start of humanities and economics courses at undergraduate level and now throwing open the iits to non engineers, its simply commendable. i think iits have truly come of age now in management education | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes |  Linear Mode |
