Hi Seniors. I am a new student (batch 2007-2009). My question is that is it compulsory to stay in NIT hostel. Because I am from Trichy and I want to attend college travelling from my home. Please reply.

hey ... as far frm ur posts ... ur experience sounds real gr8 ... however to take the final decision is upto u .. make a personal assessment as in if you are ready to wait for 1 more year n if so how good ur chances stand next yr ... i m not gonna go zany bout our insti .. its a good place n on top of that its a place where people dont make false promises .. as far the placements .. v hav been goin 100% for quite sometime now ... the figures this yr stand at wat already hav been quoted with avg sal being 4.2 and the highest 7.2(offcampus) 6.5(campus) lowest being 3.25.

nope ... it is not a compulsion for the localers to opt for hostel ... however i wud recommend that u go for it coz being in hostel lets u b aware of haps n b in the thick n thin of things .. however it is upto u ... best wishes for ur course

I would like to know if i can take nit trichy(as i am a commerce grad n not engineer). i am asking this bcos i have heard the placement sal for commerce and nit mba combination has been pretty low.pls do reply asap as i have not yet paid up 5k and not yet saved my seat.So i would be rechecking this forum tomo and then take decison based on some authentic info. Also pls let me what kind of placements can i get if i have 3 yrs work,I am a bcom grad with 3 yrs work ex in bpo operations, i dont wanna go for bpo again and i am planning for a career transition to finance or finance domain in IT or kpo's.plssssssssssssssssssss do reply asap guys.

iam from chennai with work exp of 3 yrs.....

those who planned 2 take up the admission, introduce yourself so that v might know each other before v reach at NIT...

obviously its NITT which takes CAT and conducted a rigorous GD/PI... Anna University Just takes TANCET and no GD/PI, by this u can judge about its standard... moreover it doesnt have 100% placement..... Among TANCET colleges PSGIM stands first in the ranking list, then comes ANNA, TSM Etc.,,
