hey guys got 93.43%ile in cat(qa 86.xx va 85.xx di 94.xx)what are my chances of getting a call.if yes then what are the chances of converting it.i am a fresher b.e.(comp.)with avg. acad but jhakkas extra curricular.please reply fast because i also have to sent the dd.since they have shifted their date so i think a lot of junta would be applying.

I ve got 1.7 yrs work ex, 70.26 %le in cat and very good acads and very good extra curricular activites... i heard DOMS is very good with regards to acads and ifnrstruct...
Wat are my chances of getting thro.... any comments.. pls reply asap..am yet to apply.... and can anyone comment on the pay package for the students this year.. highest and avetrage packages..

Well biggest advantage of selecting DOMS is u will be spending really less.. n the salary is quite decent .. comparable.. u get to spend only say 1.2-1.5 L overall in the two years.. which includes the hostel n stuff...Salary.. i dunno where u got all that info frm ... but it seems u do a lot of homework ..
neways gettin to ur query .. wel every1 has the premonition hearing the name NITT that systems people hav an edge in the placements here...
incidently that being the case.. people wud not opt for other options thanhr n schools like xl n symbi ... but that is not the case .. is it?? .. but i m not here to make ne comparisons

moreover as far as placements are concerne the scenaron is very dynamic.. it changes with the trends of the industry .. that what held good last yr .. does not today

n this time around systems has indeed taken a backseat n its mktg n finance that has been glitterin with coz like imrb, tata telcon, tata tinplate, icici, afl n many others...

plus a sys company isn’t jus hiring u to the technical part of the job .. sys stays at the backgrd n on top of that u hav to b strong in the functional areas like finance, marketing, operations … n that is exactly the kind of combination on which v lay stress on … though there is greater flexibilty on choosing the subjects

well as far as some of the strengths of DoMS r concerned:
Batch size: limited to 60 people which helps in maintainin a good student faculty ratio n results in individualized attention.

Dual Degree: Though v offer dual degree there is flexibility in takin up the subjects (there is no concept of majors n minors here > so there is full independence given to the students wrt what they want to study

Faculty: V don’t make claims like ’most of the faculty has been taken from IIMs’ simply because they r not … but all of them all vastly experienced in their respective domains of teaching n make learnin a great experience at DoMS...

Guest Lectures: this is a regular feature today at most b-schools but v follow it a bit differently .. although lectures frm the corporates of TCS, Titan, Maruti, are a regular feature … v make sure v learn frm the only profit makin PSU nearest to us .. that is BHEL .. these people r managin there org really well n its always good to learn a few mgt. lessons frm them every now n then.

Placements: well theyhav beeenreal decent for three yrs in a row now: this yr highest 5.96 median: 4.1 lowest: 3.25 .. so u can trust us because v r trusted by the big names…. u can see them at

The demerits are:
Location Disadvantage: it definately is there...n thats why v find it difficult to mkt ourselves .. but there is a positive …coz even if remote .. v r in a campus ushering with activities round the year … plus theres been talk already on this thread bout the really good infrastructure like octa n other labs..

hey .. at 93.43 ... u r in with a very good chance ..
with the strong extra curricular .. it further helps u .. coz this is what is looked for up here .. since most of the initiations are upto the students so extra curriculars play a vital role .. u hav good chances ... apply at the earliest .. if u do it say by today n tomo n send thru speed post .... it will ensure successful on time delivery..
