CET 2nd Round

hey guys..want some information. could anyone shed light on what exactly is this 2nd round of CET all about coz some colleges have asked to bring parents along. Is this common in the 2nd round or are they asking for money/donations etc since this round is also termed as "counselling round". The whole process is kind of funny. If there ia a thread already present regarding this matter plz post thn.

There was no need whtsoever of this thread deltoro.
U shd hv searched the existing threads 1st n posted ur query on a few.
Hope u tke cre hnceforth.

Neway, go n put ur query on ne of the follwng :

'Provisional merit list.........'
'Looking forward to Sydenham.......' etc etc....

or just send a PM(private message) to a few people.
U'll surely get a response.

there seems to be some chnage in the second round of admissions in CET , the OMS vacant seats are being offered to maharashtra open candidates , cases like shooing off OMS students at KJ have happened where students have not been ofered seats and lower rankers in mumbai university have been , i cant understand why OMS seats need to be filled up by other categories ,as it is ther is just 15 perecnt seats , the DTE even told some students who had gone there to report this matter that they could move supreme court but they will not change the process , there has been another instance at baba saheb gawde institute where students wre asked to bring eligibility certificates which take 15 days to be issued and admissions are given on showing cash recipt , the college demanded the students to bring their original eligibility cerificates and this was illogical .
another point that i would like to put forward is that the brochure says that students from maharastra will be given chance and then onli the OMS people will be offered seats , but isnt that illogical considering the fact that seats can never remain vacant after offereing seats to maharashtra students as they are more in numb , i think this mater needs some looki in ,
and till previous year the process was such that it accomodated OMS candidates for OMS seats and the fact is that the brochure had the same wordings even that time k so lots of introspection is awaited by DTE officials k

i think this thread is appropriate for people who are looking forward to second round of admissions , it can be on till the 19th of this month and it could serve as a info digest for people looking forward to some answers on this issue k

u know thrs an "OMS Paan Bhandar" near DTE office in mumbai.... i saw it yesterday n yesterday i came to know y its thr...thrs a lot of shit going on with OMS ppl in Maharashtra.
4 seats were vacant in KJ yesterday in OMS n i was placed 3rd at 178, i guy with 181 was leading with 2nd at 179.. but as soon as the process started, OMS ppl were kicked out saying tht acc. to DTE norms, all the seats have to be given to maharashtrians, no matter its an OMS seat or any other. we were asked to contact DTE, but the situation was even worse thr. as soon as we met the joinet director, we were asked to get out elz the police will be called. we, OMS have no right to say nething in maharashtra n if we want to say nethng, go to supreme court or mantralaya!! the attitude of the joint director says it all whn he said tht he was trying to even finish this 15% quota nxt yr!!! so, now the ppl with a score of 153 were getting into KJ n now the situation stands tht thr r only 5 OMS candidates in KJ out of a batch of 120... even less thn 5%!!! n this will happen in each n every collg....
thn y the hell we were asked to fill up the forms, well... few collgs didnt allow OMS ppl to fill the forms even!! i had to go to mumbai twice , 1st to fill up the form, thn at the time of 2nd councelling!! n thn we moved to dte even...frm chembur to churchgate!!! y the seats were displayed as they were vacant acc. to the catagorie?? it was clearly written tht 4 seat r left in OMS?? its written tht pref shd be given to maharashtrains in the broture but tht dosent mean tht a guy with 150 will be preferred over sum1 with 180!!!

Hi,

U will never hear this happening at JBIMS, Sydenham or PUMBA. This is one of the reasons why Goverment and University B-Schools images are left unscathed. Unethical practices have started making their presence big time in MBA admissions becoz of the Money thts pouring in.

its pathetic and i endorse yur viewponts man , its an insult , nothing less than that , academicians wanting to shoo off meritorious students thru police action is even worse , i cant belive this , its shocking ,

i had got a hint of that the pother day , when i took my fren to welinkars for admission against cancellation and he was told that no lists will be displayed and also told that he would be entertained if he is willing to appli for management quotas , we should come strongly againsty these institute s ane the poepel who promote these , i think the mods should suport this , as voice should be raised against unethical practices whereever it is ,
