Hi Nitin,

That's a close call...our course started on 15th of June. I'm not sure when it's starting for the next batch - I'll find out about that and your exp level, and get back to you.

Have you called the admission office? What did they say?

Regards,
Chanaveer K

I had admit for AIM, Manila for MM 06-07 which I have deffered to 07-08. The hitch with AIM, Manila is that they don't have active placements as is the international practice. Also the cost of MM at AIM, Manila is approx Rs. 1 Mn. as compared to XLRI's 3-4 lacs.

Guys need your inputs in deciding which program to go in for.

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

Hi Kiran,

1. The current batch size is 55. Dont know what it will be next year, XLRI doesnt publize it. I will try to find out though and let you know.
2. The course starts around mid-June and finishs by April end the next year. Convocation is held early May.
3. We didnt have any acco for married students for our batch. A new family accomodation hostel is under construction, and should be ready for next batch. I will check on this too
4. The fee of Rs 3.3 Lk for OUR batch, covered end-to-end expenses, as you will see in the first post of this thread. It covered hostel acco, mess bill, laptop, tution fees, reading material fees etc. I will find out the components of the new fees and let you know.

One of our batchmates, Gautam Kalia, has about 8-10 years exp in Operations. You may contact him about your queries on g06024@astra.xlri.ac.in.

I attaching the advertisement for GMP and Exec-PGP program from Economic Times of 16-Sep, page 5. It clearly mentions lateral placements.

Hi,

The activity on the group has subsided all of a sudden. Guys, please do write in if any clarifications, queries need to be answered.

With Chanaveer's last post of the advt in Economic times on placements, the institute would be providing Lateral Placements to all the non sponsored candidates of GMP.

regards

Dipankar

Re: 1 year PGDGM program at XLRI - GMP - 28-09-2006, 04:13 PM

Thanks for the mail Deepankar Yeah, I'd become lazy all of a sudden.

Well some more updates -
1. Placement for next GMP batch also, as deepankar said. I spoke to the GMP co-ordinator and he has assured it.

2. Family accomodation is under construction. There are plans to have a separate residence for GMP, outside campus. But its uncertain if the accomodation will be ready by the time next GMP batch starts. Plz contact the XLRI office for continuos updates.

3. GMAT scores are also accepted for GMP.

4. The new fees is Rs. 6/- lakh. This includes hostel/mess/tution/study material/miscellaneous expenses (placement agency etc, which is currently charged extra), AND expenses for an international project/study tour. However laptop fees are not included - so about Rs. 50,000/- extra will be charged when you come here.

XL 2007 prospectus attached for your reference .

Re: 1 year PGDGM program at XLRI - GMP - 04-10-2006, 07:56 PM

Hi Guys,
Couple of queries on the GMAT based admit. I have downloaded the form from website and was a bit confused seeing it. It's a pretty random form!

1. NO breakup of GMAT score! (Q/V/AWA.. nothing is asked)
2. NO Essays.
3. The form asks for 2 addresses. But no where does the form which ones?? With one, I would have presumed the residencial address, Even with 2 I can presume a work and a home add, but which is which???!!!
4. The form as all the rectangles! (Not text boxes). Do we print the app and fill it with pen or use computer to edit the stuff?
5. What is the GMAT code of the institute/program? I mean does it need official scores? I didn't see that anywhere.

6. And finally, Are we allowed to format the form a little? The current format is really bad!!

Hi Vagabond,

Sorry but I'm not able to locate the form on the website. Can you paste the link? Or if its available to only applicants, maybe you can send it to me by mail at ch_veer1@yahoo.co.in. I will have a look.
