Hi,
Does the GMP 1year prog requires 3 or 5yrs of prior experience? I saw some discussion saying 3 and others saying 5, can you please clarify? I have about 4yrs exp and fall in between, hence the confusion.
I am talking about academic year 2007.
Thanks,

Thanks, | HI Pitbull...
As per the prospectus, one should have minimum 5 years of experience by Apr 2007 for GMP. However I'll have only 4.9 years by cut off date. In this regard I'd spoken with program co-ordinator of GMP at XL and he was like any one with less exp can also apply, though they'll prefer somebody with min 5 years experience. In case ur profile (XAT/GMAT score, Quality of Work Ex etc) is good, this minimum experience requirement might be relaxed a bit.
Hope it answers ur doubt. | | | | | | | |

It seems that many confirmation mails bounced back for some reason - address was not correct etc. Maybe that's why some of you didnt receive the mails.
About GMAT scores, the admissions office will shortly announce shortlisted GMAT candidate list. The current list is only for XAT - GMAT candidates need to wait some more days.

Hi GMPians,

Hi Mohit,
First of all, congrats on getting the call! I will answer your queries one by one:
1. You might know that ours is the first GMP batch to get placement, and because of this industry awareness is still not high. The placements are scheduled in March - another 1 month to go. I'll be honest with you - we are getting good response from companies, but since this is the first time, so let's see. We are very hopeful, and results will be there for everyone to see in March. As we contact more and more companies, they come to know of us, and it'll definitely be much better for the next GPM batch than for our batch !
2. GMP is designed as an accelerated executive program, and IS different from the 2-yr program. The 2-yr program has, apart from studies, loads of co-curricular activites like - student clubs, cultural events, more institute-to-institute interaction etc. Basically it is for building personality of freshers. The GMP course assumes that with your work ex of +5 years, you already have those skills and emphasis is more on academic studies. Of course, any GMPian can participate in any co-curricular activity, but we are always short of time! Also, the 2-yr course has more courses (40 credit courses) compared to GMP's 32 courses...since they have more time. So you can say that they get bit more rigorous academic training than we do. Finally its our choice !
3. Fees is Rs. 6.5 Lk (including 50,000 for laptop). If you have your own laptop, fees is Rs. 6 lk
4. GD - will find out soon and let you know.
Regards,
Chanaveer

Hi Everyone,
The XAT admissions co-ordinator was on leave for some time, so I couldnt get info for some of your questions. I will find out the following and get back to you as soon as possible:
1. Whether telephonic interview are allowed
2. Whether/When shortlisted people will be told which course (GMP/2-yr) they have been shortlisted for, and how will they be informed.
3. The GMP inteview procedure, esp. if GD is there
4. When will GMAT list be announced.
Please wait for little time....
Regards,
Chanaveer

Hi,
Found out yesterday - college has started sending out GMP call letters for GMAT applicants. People who have applied for both 2-yr and GMP will get separate calls for both (via emails), and will have to choose one of the programs. The admissions co-ordinator is quite busy so this is all i could get - am not sure how college will ask you to choose between the 2 courses.
Will let you know about inteview procedure shortly.

Hi,
About the interview pattern - XL wouldnt disclose before the process starts But my best guess is, it'll be like it was last year - just 1 interview, no GD etc. Since all applicants are with >=5 years of exp, GD is not required to test the communication skills. Thats only for freshers. About no. of rounds of interview, again, XL wouldnt disclose.
