guys the main MBA course at IMI,Delhi is Internationally oriented. You get to learn a Foreign Language and have compulsory papers like Inetrnational Business and Inetrnational Economics,Law..etc.
so if u wanna go in for an MBA oriented internationally then IMI is also an option u could look in for..!!!! shivanku Cultural Secretary;Media Cell(interface) President;Campus Associate; IMI delhi:: new website ( 2006- 2008 Batch ) | | | | | | | |

Hi Payal,
No offence to shivam...but the subjects (Foreign Lnguage, IE, Intl Biz etc) which u have just mentioned are all there in a regular MBA Trimester curriculum of PUMBA. IIFT ranks No1 for Foreign Trade..no doubt about tht. KJ Somaiya has discontinued PGPIB. SIIB offers Intl Biz degree, IMI as Shivam has said is a gr8 course.
Pune University Deptt of Economics and Commerce also offers a 1 yr PGDFT. At the same time MBA at PUMBA gives u the option of a dual specialization as well as a chance to simultaneously do your PGDFT frm the Deptt of Eco. The total cost of these 2 courses will be 90,000, both years. Thts (39500 MBA I at PUMBA+ 39000 MBA II at PUMBA + 10,000 PGDFT at DOE, PU). Being in PUMBA and with an added degree of PGDFT< u will be guaranteed a 6+ Lacs plcmnt, whch in turn gives the best ROI. My frnd , a passout of 2006 batch, has secured a plcmnt of 9.3 lacs with Maresk Line INternational. He is just one of the 10 ppl who did this Triple qualification effort.
Both are autonomous institutes affilited to and a part of the Prsetigious Pune University. PUMBA now has the one of the best curriculum amongst leading B-Schools of the country, has moved to a 1,45,000 Sq Ft new campus with all facilities. So i guess u can also look atthis lucrative option.

Payal. | Hi Payal
Well the Deptt of Economics is connected to the Pune University website and as such, to apply there u gotta go personally. The entrance exam is in the month of May, intake is 40 seats. The advt wud appear in the newspaper. My take is give CAT first, try for the IIMs. then you can give CET next year and try for PUMBA. Do ur 1st year at PUMBA...and in ur 2nd year..u give the entrance for PGDFT and then simultaneously complete MBA as well as PGDFT. Since u will be at PUMBA...u will be aware of the admission procedure as both the deptts are in closely located.
Yes, if u r an OMS category student then getting admission in the TOP 5 colleges thru CET itself is going to be very challenging as there are just 15% seats for OMS in each college. The CUT offs for the TOP 5 wud always be above 176/240...whch is very high considerin that the highest %ile guy wud be 190 sumthin. But thn once u do get admission...nothin like it!!!

176/240 n that also jus 15% seats reserved...wooofff that sounds difficult...!
Wat do ya think of this:
1 yr pg in foreign trade frm PU, n then 1 yr frm U.K same IB course?!?
Does this sound better than d other?

this year people in the course have cat percentiles ranging from 95 to 99 percentiles...60 seats in all...

waiting eagerly for a reply .. | There is already a thread opened in "Career Discussions" section. And you have also posted your query in that thread. So expect a reply there itself. Here is the link: http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/career...-how-does.html (Career in International Business & How does MBA(IB) help !!)
I guess now there is no need of this thread now. Also this thread has been created in wrong section. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to swapnilpatil147 For This Useful Post: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
