hi everone,
i stay in parel but hav never before heard of this instiute..........well after some research found sum info....
1. its a 2 yrs masters in labour studies course affiliated to mumbai univ.
2. campus sucks....(in fact no campus at all)
3. its a very discreet institute n faculty n staff is 100% maharashtrian
4. selection procedure is bias towardz maharashtians....ppl frm other states basically have no chance of gettin in2 it........
5. placements r decent but not everybody gets placed....
6.crowd sucks
those who dont believe me plz go through student profiles on the website...........

for the uninformed..
MILS is a great place to be doing your PG from...
I can personally vouch for it as i know senior people from the industry who hav studied at MILS...

People who are looking at HR SHOULD definitely cosider MILS..
it offers you the opportunity to learn and learn well. That the plce is full of people from a particular region should hardly be a matter of concern...

Good Luck Guys..

Re: Maharashtra Institute of Labour Studies - 25-06-2006, 02:04 PM

well i certainly doubt the selection procedure at mlis..............
selection is based on the whims n fancies of the management........
written test is soooo simple tat even a 10yr old can crack it.....
in gd/pi u can speak in hindi or marathi.............
out of 50 ppl selected 95% r maharashtrians............
ppl frm mumbai univ do hav some chance of making in2 it
ppl frm outside maharashtra don't hav a sniff of a chance.....
there are 1 or 2 seats for ppl frm outside maharashtra...........
so only if u r a maharashtrian n frm mumbai univ then only try for mlis..

Of allthe thingsI've lost...I missmy MIND the most...!!

well i agree, i was so shocked not to see my name in the final list, but on wait list...

as per gd group i was best, test was damn damn simple, and pi was awasome, didnt answer single question wrong, even the panel was impressed, from group of 40 who gave pi on tuesday only 2 got selected, me waitlisted, damn damn shocking

hope i do get a final call thought

and i non maharashtrain ...ehehheh, so a rare miniority if i make it to the institute and christain as well, even rarer, lol
