Congrats for your selection in both MBA's for biologists. Well, my personal opinion is that you should take MBA Pharma, NMIMS as it scores better over MBA Biotech, PUMBA. My friend had done his MBA-BT from P{UMBA, n he adviced me not to take the course of the not so good state of teaching. Mind it, theres a big difference in MBA General of PUMBA n MBA BT of PUMBA. Though both come under the same banner, they are miles apart. After two years, most of the guys were placed as MRs with 10k-18k range. My friend was smart enough to hop to banking n now he enjoys a 38k! Beside, no hostel as only 3/4 seats based on merit r given.
On the other hand, NMIMS is first of all a brand, it ranks in top 10 instis' in India. Ours will be its 4th batch. Met two seniors there n they said that if ur looking for a career development n ready to have a committed experience leading to a great career, then NMIMS is the right place. Besides, the board of directors (in prospectus) are good n they would definitely take care of us getting placed. After all, this course hase been started with a purpose of achieving excellence in the field of pharma. ......

Well, your still welcome to discuss more, but Im clear on joining as in my hw, NMIMS ceratinly comes miles ahead of PUMBA BT (I didn't even give ATMA!)

First of all, ur avatar suggests ur in IIM, Kolkata, so why thinking NM?????
Neways, Congrats on making it to NM. Ammmm, many prople on the thread have opted for Services, but I've made it to Pharma. So, regarding MBA Pharma, I can say that we're gonna be its 4th batch, (earlier the 3 batches were PGDPM) And, pharma is an upcoming promising sector. Please read what I have replied to RJA.

Well I've enquired and consulted a lot of my friends n they say that it'll be better to buy their laptop as you get a servicing in campus if something happens, along with 3yr warranty. They might be specific to the course rqmnts or so, n if the diff is of some 5-10k, then one can consider their laptop. Thouch, its not mandatory to buy their lappy.

Well, NMIMS does have its course recognised by AICTE (MBA Pharma at least, enquire for others). It has a 5star rating from UGC, Deemed Univ., NAAC graded 'A' (ALL THESE STATED IN THEIR PROSPECTUS)...........
........ i think these are enough to convice that the course is recognised.

Some1 asked about availing educational loan from banks. I am an AGM with SBI. I am glad to state that SBI has hassle free procedures for sanctioning educational loans. We have two products, viz., SBI Student Loan and SBI Scholar Loan. Present interest rates for the products are as under.
Loan Amount Scholar Loan Student Loan
<= Rs. 4 lacs 9.50 % 11.00%
> Rs. 4 lacs 9.75 % 12.00%

The interest rates are floating and linked to SBI PLR [State Bank Advance Rate] which is presently ruling at 10.75 %. Around top 40 institutions throughout the country are identified by SBI so as to enable students pursuing full time courses in these institutions to be eligible for availing SBI Scholar loan. In Mumbai, the select institutions are IIT, JB, SP Jain, NITIE, NMIMS, IIT-SJSOM and TISS. For studies in India and for loans up to Rs. 4 lacs, the margin is NIL and for studies in India, and for loans of > Rs. 4 lacs, the margin is only 5 % and the processing charges are NIL.

Thanks for info, but it would've been appreciated had u posted two days earlier. I had gone to SBI n they said it'll take 8-10 days!!! Then went for Citibank 48hr loan facility...... happy now!
