Re: BITS Pilani MBA - 28-07-2008, 03:28 PM

Hi puys ................had my first visit to the Bits Pilani Campus and we all are highly indebted to kulashekharan for the valuable info which proved to be extremely useful during the visit.

Selection Process

So we had a day long selection process which included a Reading Comprehension test in the morning ,following that was the GD and after the lunch break we had our personal interviews..........and as we were intimated earlier, the results were to be declared the next day i.e. 26th.

The following morning was the longest morning I have ever had in my life. After a sleepless night we got up at around 7,had our morning tea in the canteen, came back to our rooms, tried to interact with (almost) each and every person who we thought was a budding batch mate of ours. Then we got ready, again had tea followed by the breakfast.I checked out the time for the second time since we were awake,............and it was only 7:45.......phew...........we had to accept ..........we all were extremely anxious and apprehensive..........
So we decided to move to the admission office and inquire about the exact time when the final results will be declared........we were told ,the list would be displayed at ten.........so we had to wait 2 hours (which ultimately turned out to be the longest two hours).......

somehow we spent the two hours...and .........my watch finally struck ten.........and all the guys were waiting before the notice board.......all were discussing about our Plan B,about how the interview and GD went,etc,etc.........
fingers crossed ......i looked at the person who had the list of candidates finally selected...........i remembered my almighty and started to scan the list for my name............half the list was over.......i kept scanning.........and there it was..........My name............i read it again and again....pinched myself n read it again............Yippe.... .....I got shortlisted .........

After that we had a registration process at 11 and hostel allotment at 5.........
after that we left Pilani to get our luggage and stuff from our respective home cities.........
will keep updating this thread........

keep checking out this thread for more.........

Malviya is a good place... u ll get good food ... and foodking is just close by ...
My experience cannot be described in words .. the best of times in my life ...

Suggestions: hehe that I can give a lot.
1. Meet up with all ur seniors - v important
2. Get involved in various activities done in BITS - specially related to Mgmt and Interface (BITS mgmt fest) - bcoz ur senior wont be available next sem so make full utilization this sem. U all will have to conduct the fest on ur own next sem.
3. U ll learn the most if u participate in extra curricular activities like - drama club, music club, dance club, literary club, and many more ... If u r interested in enterpreneurship then I suggest u join CEL (its a group of guys tryin to promote it) - trust me u ll learn the most in this club ... there is a selection process which u ll ve to get to know - ur seniors might help
4. Remember u ll b in BITS for next 3 semesters only. Learn as much as possible - It ll help u in long run for sure.
5. And have fun - Pilani is surrounded by forts and treking mountains - roam n ve fun. Oasis is an national cultural event which ll b this sem - though most of them ll b UG - u can make the presence felt too by performin or puttin up some stalls - by which u can earn money for the Interface event.

All the best. I m in Noida right now. I guess u need to join 1st aug right? v can meet up in some week end when u come ...

Good luck

Thumbs up Re: BITS Pilani MBA - 14-08-2008, 01:01 PM

Great. It so nice to hear that our super juniors are also a great batch.
It always good to have people with experience.

You need not thank me. It a sense of satisfaction that I get by contributing back to BITS in some way.

We would be interested to come to campus again as well. Please give my mail id to GL so that we don't miss out any interaction.
