well ... I just called up the admission office and confirmed that we hav to bring the DD[fees] when we arrive for the GD/PI process on 27 and only selected candidates have to pay it on 28 jul!!!!

my apologies for the delayed reply, I have got an email from someone about bits and there are some discussions going on in this forum.. I rarely used to check bits360 forums which is inactive coming to mba discussions. Being an insider what as an insider, bits pilani had an mba in the 70's then it transitioned into MMS ( but you cannot call that an mba ). The first batch people were well placed, there were only 20 odd people, you can say they had some rub of the green and the companies took them on BITS technical reputation and some faith on BITS and there wasn't recession and giving a job to bits mba wasn't a risk for the industry then.

How many BITS MBA people are in the INDUSTRY ?

The first batch 20,
The second batch 30 odd,

The second batch are placements took a hit due to the R word, but even in recession we expected decent companies to hire us which wasn't to be.
should BITS have taken more care about us ?
can't BITS PILANI get average pays with it reputation ?

Now the industry doesn't look at BITS PILANI brand and take mba students in.
BITS is known for its technical excellence, how good is it in management ? , BITS doesn't have the answer and mere 20 good placements doesn't back it up. Infact the batch 2 should tell them the story.

I do not think the industry will take the risk with bits having 3 batches passed out ( with respect to the current aspirants ) . There are numerous colleges in INDIA with over 10 years of establishment.
Why would they come to BITS pilani.

And yes numerous companies come to bits every year, but no one asked the question how many companies come looking for a mba degree holder.
10-20 companies would come to any good mba college in INDIA and it would be enough to get you a job.

what is the use if 200 companies come to bits pilani and they are not looking to hire mere 30 odd MBA students.

and I found an interesting stat going though the pages, I've noticed even 92 marks (no offence ) fetched the person a shortlist. I will keep it with me as you know what I think.

I hope I have answered most important aspects.

If anyone asks me for a suggestion, I would advice them to look for a better MBA and it really won't hinder you if a year is spent for it.
2 years of job has a clear edge over bits mba and I presume you won't want to risk your carreer hoping for bits to do well.

Highest package is 2.6 lakh for 3 year work ex guy( Nothing to do with R word, it's same from begining)

Lowest is 1.2 ( Again R is not the Real reason).


The real reason is No recognition ...looks like this Degree is analogous to what Amit Y offered

There are chances that the aforementioned person is telling the truth.
The placement scenario is bad everywhere and BITS is no exception.
The aspirants know how to decide for themselves.
Let them make an informed decision.

I don't know why the Mail id is Removed , The person is a co-coordinator for Placements for BITS MBA students.

Another Valid information ...i suppose any Literate person can't deny even the people who dream of Spending their "First date in italian nation"...That we need a Recognized degree to apply for Tier-1 or any Job outside India.

After all MBA is done for Exposure and when there No recognition it means that even after spending 2 years of your time , you are still considered as a student who passed out Bachelors degree , Except if you get placed straightaway from Bits by any National / international Employer.....

Apart from this if any one tries out his Job search in other countries, he/she may/might(sorry i can't predict future) face a problem regarding recognition of his degree ...as AICTE is the body that recognizes the Higher technical and Managerial Degree.

If there is no recognition it means BITS is acting like a Separate Body and giving education by choosing it's own syllabus . I think it's Unethical..do i have a right to consider or take a chance as some one suggested in this case..

Or is it Moral to evade some Information which produces a skeptical view.

Can you people please tell ...without doubt where on earth we can seek Truth popping up on it's Own.

For two, if there are sooo many points that you have against the institute, why dont you take an action that justifies your disgust with the way things are going on there.
Writing stuff here shall only prove that you wish to voice your opinion thats it.
Also.... You put up your point, I did some fire fighting because the aspirants were getting anxious. So the post was NOT routed to you.
Use a more suitable path to vent out your anger, penning it here shall only archive it.

I don't have disgust against any one. I am asking some Reasonable questions , I was reasonable and Unreasonable in My approach.


I am seeking Numbers so that every one can identify the Fact.

Just it looks like a fashion to relate our Mistake's and Idiotic managerial policies on "Recession" Like our Foolishness on "SLUMDOG".

Why can't the senior people come up and post their salaries...

is it compunction or carelessness...

Instead of boasting about Name of some college or exclaiming "R" word...why can't so called "Insider"(Not Russel crowe) Tell candidly that after 2 years of Experience they had an offer to accept 2 lakh job --> with a beautiful "R" Tag attached to it, and highest package is 2.6 Lakh.

If my comments are just meaningless criticism then Question them with substantial evidence....

I had couple of genuine questions about BITS Pilani MBA, I will be glad if anyone of you can help me out

è Are the doubts on BITS MBA recognition genuine? I thought BITS is a deemed university, if yes then it is authorized to start any course without any approval from AICTE.
è What are your thoughts about the placement scenario@BITS? Considering these turbulent recessionary times, I guess each & every institute has suffered, but how encouraging were the placements stats for the first batch?
Though whatever information I could gather uptil about BITS MBA hasn’t been very encouraging but still I feel BITS,Pilani brand name has lots of potential even for MBA & things shall improve with time but uncertainty does exists.
Nonetheless wish u guys all the best for GD/PI process & hope to see you @Pilani.
