Xth: 85%
XII: 85%
B.E (Mech): 89%
work-ex : 1.5+ yrs in IT

i wanto do an MBA at this juncture . i went thru the courses @ Bits and it really impressed me.

1. I wud like to know how good is an MBA from bits pilani ? ( cos i kno its really a great place for engg . but i havent heard much about its MBA . cudnt find it in the PG - rankings to see its relative position )

2.how is the placements scenario this time around ? (i did go thru ur previous post but i wud like to kno how BITS MBA has reacted to the present situation)

3. could u give me a briefing on this practice school system I & II ?

4. the previous studs were placed mostly in IT n BFS n insurance sector. is it tht only they come for placements ? how abt fmcg n manufac ones ?

Pls do give me a candid reply asap.

Sorry for the late reply........was stuck in the acads......
U got a decent profile (specially your score in Btech)...congrats
hmmm........so coming straight to the point.....How good is Bits MBA......
well the question doesnt tell what aspect of the program r u talking about..........
The faculty is excellent.....state-of-the-art infrastructure coupled with the course material(including HBS n IIMA case studies ) makes it a unique program.....add to this the edge students get because of the PS system of bits......
regarding the PS , PS-1 is not for MBA....its for undergrads,.........PS2 is 5.5 months interns that MBA students need to compulsorily undergo towards the end of the course........which would add to our work ex....
and as far as placement profiling is concerned..........we cant really segment that considering that the first batch had only 15 students........
since then the intake is increasing .....and finally the intake may settle at 60..............only then the placement profiling would be relevant........

I'll be opting for ITeS to leverage my experience in a related field. The passing out batch is in PS and the latest formal updates regarding the placements is not with me right now......
Some informal info: ppl who got Perot as their PS have already converted it.....which is a positive signal in this difficult time . Few others are also converted but confirmed info is yet to come......

I believe I already replied to a similar question ...........last year,the last date for Applying for admissions to the MBA Programme for the I Semester 2008-09 was 5.00 PM 30th May 2008.

Advertisement for Admissions to MBA Programme for the I Semester 2009-10 will come in the third week of April 2009.

I am a third year student ( B.E ) of Bits Pilani .....and I am frankly telling you not to go for MBA in Bits Pilani ....
the first thing is that dont go by the reputation of Bits in engineering field ....Its MBA comes nowhere close to it
secondly its quite new ..as in it started in 2006 only ....so it will take some time to develop ....
thirdly placement scenario of Bits MBA is also not encouraging ......

Plz subtantiate ur claims with facts and figures.....that will help more in making decision....otherwise anybody can say, it's good or BAD!!!!!!

as far as age of institute is concerned they had a program in similar lines for so many years, i exactly don't remember name of program:(

So that ex also helps.......anyway i am not advocating BITS MBA but just asking you to provide more insights........

Correctly pointed out......Bits has had MBA long time back but it was converted to MMS smtime in 1970's..........and Bits MMS alumni is placed awesomely............recently 3 yrs back .......it was converted back to MBA
