here is something XLNC has posted on the other forum...

""" i hope people will like this piece of info.
yesterday i was into a very deep discussion with my CIO (boss) and another vip from the industry regarding this Biz Diz course.
i wouldnt take advice from these guys as just another piece of info.
both are reputed people in the industry
1 from IIM-A n d other from JBIMS.
so what follows in gota be important.
what they said after going thru the course details was that this course is more of a generalization.
mba or pgdbm etc are oriented towards specializations.
both generalization and specialization have their ups and downs.
Welingakrs has minced its words in a way that this sound too profound than it actually is.
i seriously dont think that we r up to spend two years and 4 lak rupees over geting acquainted with generalization.
we should go in for specialization as we can cultivate generalization skills as part time activities.
after all we have worked this hard to be above the general, to be specialists.
wat say people?????????? """"

that was a quite a bit of info XLNC.. thanks..
so what say ppl..

hi sonia.. it was xlnc.. i jus posted the info he gave on other forum..
arre even i got no options left.. but i think lot of colleges r startin pgprm course that too in partnership with PANTALOON (god knows wht they r upto).. the main disadv abt pgprm according to me is that one will only remain restricted to retail... cant jump to other jobs meant for MBA's.. while biz design seems to be more generalised.. will have atleast better options then retail.,, with PGPRM one cant go into Biz design jobs but with PGPBD one can go into retail jobs.. thats wht i think... hope it will help..

cheers

@sonia.. ya he is sayin a different thing.. u asked a comparison betn retail n biz design na.. which is better.. so in these 2.. i think biz design is better, only becoz of more options.. n u know that retail is every where now.. iilm, KJ ,NM, wel.. n god knows where.. n wht xlnc is sayin is correct.. its a new course...he says its generalised.. its a new course yaar.. can go either way.. but wht i think the welingkars brand name will take care of it to some extent..

@rudraksh

i agree with u...bt pgprm will cost 2.5l
n pgdbd will cost 4l...jobs in both cases with pantaloons aprt for dose 15 ppl who r gonna b placed in different companies...
n if both d courses r gonna give me 19k pm...why nt go for pgprm than pgdbd..

@sonia.. ok say u go for pgprm , but after few months u wanna work in different kinda job.. dont u think u will have a better chance of jumping there with biz design??? see if u jus wanna be in the RETAIL field.. blindly go for PGPRM... but else i think PGPBD would be a better option... and abt fees.. its a kinda risk with this new pgpbd course.. which i wud be takin for sure if i get thru..

hey rudraksha,
thanx 4 shifting my post overhere.
guys lets get 1 thing straight.
merely getting into any course is not the sole objective of our existence.
we gota make right choices.
b4 stepping into the Biz Diz course lets make sure that we are investing our time and money for a better future.
it would not be desirable to start off with Biz Diz just coz 1 gets thru.
we must make indepth analysis about the same.
today we can blindly go 4 PGDBM but PGPBD is a slippery wicket.
it would be much more appreciable if some1 can get useful industry inputs.
we donthave the necessary knowledge to state any thing for or against the course.
i have posted what i found out about the course.
people please do some research and get back over here

hey sonia
i have said this b4 as well
after speaking with welingkar people i found out that if 1 has applied for any course from welingkar he/she doesnt have to pay again for Biz Diz.
just download the form and send it towelingkars b4 31 of this month.
PGPRM definitely has restricted ventures but again RETAIL IS THE MOST BROADLY SPREAD BUSINESS AVENUE
