It's amazing that last year 766 ppl were called for 40 seats... and this year only around 500 ppl were called for 80 seats...!!!

sorry for posting this experience so late..............had my gdpi today

i went to tiss at 9 am.............only to realise tht the oreintation hd jus got ovr......so pls try to reach thr at 8 am . it ws a lovely campus with trees flowers n cute monkeys!!.My gdpi ws scheduled for 10.30, we wer givn choice between moral policing is it needed?? and cn the grameen bank model be applied in india. we went for the 1st topic........it ws a peaceful gd........we let each othr speak...though some of the gals were a bit aggro.......passd off well.........hd to wait for 2 hrs for my intrview.....but dint mind due to the pleasent surroundings..
pi.................it hd 3 ppl panel , the dean , a physcologist i think n anothr prof. the foll were the questions.......

Hi people,

Have got access to the net only now after my GD/PI, so kindly excuse for posting the experience late..

GD/PI on the 17th

GD -

First group to go for GD that day.. Majority of the members incidentally were from Delhi..

As already discussed by some, there were two topics..

1)Increasing role of Security Council to more Countries(might not be precisely right, but smthng on these lines..)

2) Social Responsibility of Businesses, should it be driven by Philanthropy or Strategy?

Somewhat of a unanimous decision, we went for the 2nd topic..

It was very clearly mentioned by one of the Panelists that there will be negative marking for dominating the GD..

25 mins was the allotted time, and so everybody got a fair chance to speak.. People came in with loads and loads of points .. but honesly there wasnt much scope for discussion.. it more or less became a matter of beating around the bush 15 mins into the GD! But all in all it went peaceful.. i've never had one like this my entire life

Asked to move tyo Room no 5, anxious people pouring in every now and then, whosoever got over with their GDs that is.. and just as soon, people started getting called for their interviews.. Random selection of people..

i dont know the name of the Professors, but somebody did give out descriptions earlier in the thread i presume..

I think that was about it, would post more if i can recollect.. Don't really know how long the Interview went on for, although i honestly wonder if that matters..

Best of Luck to the ones still to go for their GD/Interviews..

And ya one thing worth mentioning is surely the campus.. Awesome place... Wonder if Mumbai as a whole has that much greenery!!

Hi Prateek, can you give us a bit on ur background too... and bluff_upmam too... Also it would be great if you all could provide us a brief statistics on the distribution of students: how many were work ex (2+, <2 etc), edu backgrnd etc..

17th - 75 people are called,54 turned
18th - 78 people are called,56 turned.

I was intervewied by Prof.Toppo and Prof.Srivastava panel.

What are the parametters to determine below poverty line ???(there are 15 and I said 1)

Regarding My profile :

I got 21 months of exp and I will be in freshers category..

There are many people in the range of 18 + and below 24 months exp.

I also met good number of people who are having more than 2 years (10+)

Ya surely Dheeraj,

i am doing my Engg., 4th year, IP University, Delhi.. As for the statistics, i think i hardly saw people from the >2 yrs work ex category.. At the most one could see people who've passed out of their Grads 2 years ago.. make that 1.5 -2 years of work ex.. But ya , there were a few people from the +2 category too.. i'd say 20-30% of all the people there that day... we had around 70 odd people show up.. But again then, lets not think or go to deep in the stats.. u never know with TISS.. anything's possible..

tiss is cool man...
nd 1 guy who impressed us so mch was babu(kudoz 2 him)...
gd topix 1 social 1 business..gd was smooth ever1 had ample time to pitch in...v kept watchin time nd called shots when it was over...
gdpi was kewl every1 in pi for 15 min....mine was done in 10 min...
i guess in btween dean came up nd started asking qs....

results wd b out soon atb..
