A very good point. TISS is not a b-school and your approach to GD and PI has to aligned to the same. Its not the most aggresive people who are selected but people who are more sensitive to the surrounding and who are able to take the group along towards a logical conclusion to the discussion. Avoid capitalistic kind of arguments. after all this is a social science institute.

Happy note to end with and just to egg you on... The final placements got over recently. you could get the details of the placement at Placement 2007 | Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai

Crack it!!!
Why do you post your placement report on coolavenues and not your own site?
Does that mean that yours is an unofficial report and the figures might be inflated?

The placements at TISS are done solely by the placement committee without any representation from the college administration or the faculty. The institute does not believe in boasting about it self. We share this information on forums like this to get the information to the less informed people about the placements.

well one question for the seniors at TISS.... I've read abt the wonderful placement at TISS... BIG SHOT companies like PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst&Young, Lehman Brothers,Deutsche Bank, HSBC bank etc have gone there for recruitment...
Now my question is: Do these company go there for recruiting HR people or people for their core processes... For eg, my friend at IIM Cal is placed in PwC in the TAS division. In TISS, does it come for the same profile or for its HR profile?? My same question for the banks and finance company that go there....
I am asking these questions coz the average salary in placement is huge... And if they are for HR profile, then wow! nothing like it..
So please calrify this...

Also....they said that 43 is the cut off....But does it mean that everyone who score above 43 would get a GD/PI call??? I mean, the paper was so easy that quite a few ppl would get that much...
Or is it that like the IIMs have specified the minimum percentile n percentages, 43 is the minimum marks one HAS to attain to get a GD/PI call from TISS?
Please calrify
