Hi Guys,

I am also taking TISS Test. I have a couple of queries regarding the form.
  • Do we have to write the essay in third person?
  • Is it necessary to send 2 attested admit cards? I feel one should suffice.
Please let me know about the above mentioned two important questions as I have already prepared outline of my essay. Will be writing the final version soon. Have to send the from latest by Monday.

Waiting in anticipation.

TISS Gurus please help.

Cheers!!!

Hi... im sendin in application for TISS. But i hav doubt, as guided by tiss the biosketch should be comprised only in 250 words... now my SOP is a little too long... so would it be okay if i use upto 300-350 words or is there a possiblity that my application might get rejected. Is TISS very strick over the same?? Pls make me a suggestion asap...the dates for submission is very close.

regards,
Moby

Hey everyone,
Have been following up with this thread for a long time now, however, found just enough time to post in a reply today.
I am,Anamika. Graduated from college last year, and was working with Wipro BPO for a good 8 months. Have started preparing for the TISS entrance this year.
However, like many other newbies,I would also know a few facts before proceeding neck-deep into the same.
My first query would be, that in the biosketch, does one have to talk about one's character strengths and flaws as well, or just a plain quo facto about your intention about joining the institution do?
Secondly, in the personal interview, is one asked questions from the respective field he or she comes from? For eg,I'm from a Chemical background,so would basic chemistry preparations be required?
Thirdly, since there would be no essay test, could one enlighten me about the difficulty levels of the Objective Test.
Thats all I have in mind right now. But really appreciate the guys to answer queries effectively.
Hope to clear the entrance.
Cheers.
Anamika

BioGraphical Sketch - 09-11-2006, 01:26 AM

The Biographical sketch is meant to be a reflection of your personality and the Qualities (Strengths and Weknesses) that are inherent to it...!

SO try to write your life stories highlighting your areas of strength (Achievements /Academic and Extracirricularactivities )
and try to link it with Your desire to Pursue HR at TISS.
Also do mention what you would be looking at gaining from TISS in teh two years,...

Few Pointers

1) Try to blend the text into one single narration ..
Do not have the text flow in identifiable Question Answer Format..

2)Try to make it more cogent and free flowing.
Donot give the opposite person the idea that the Sketch has been written keeping the end in mind. The sketch is supposed to be a natural flow of your Achievements /and Qualities documented in prose.

3) Extracirricular activies can be mentioned and they SHould demonstarte the learnings only a mention of them without the Learnings is of little use.

4) WOrd count spurt of upto 20 30 (Above 250) words is ok ,but dont excedd That..NO harm ..but still why risk..!

In the end .. Undertstand that the Bioographical sketch is ony meant to be an interview aid..
It has no markings whatsoever..
SO You can be chill about It..

Hope this help...
DO write in If queries persist..

Good Luck
God BLess

:sly:
1) please refer the above post ( a post above this)

2) Yes they may ask you some quetsions from your Chem background but largely the interview will be behavioural...
They wont ask you complex chemical formulations and you can be reasonably sure on that....!
So no need for a through prep..
Elementary read will be welcome.

3) Nopes...
The Entrance test can be expected to be of the same level as the l;ast year..
This year the cutoff that wuill be considered (43 /70 ) is higher than the previous years so it will definitely not be a tougher test..

Good Luck
:-)

Hey Guys,
Just a quick Question to TISS ians...
Can you please brief me about the difficulty level of the Entrance exam....Whether we can compare it with XAT or IIM......you can say on your own parameters also......this will help us a lot in our preparation.
