Well, seems like we'll have more than 5 tests after all...
From TIME web site:
Admission Update
The IRMA Admission test for the Post Graduate Programme in Rural Management and Fellow Programme in Rural Management will be held on December 7, 2003 as scheduled. Hence, candidates are advised to appear for test conducted by the Institute on December 7, 2003. The Institute would not consider any other test marks for admission to IRMA’s PRM and FPRM in 2004.
IRMA has already made a representation to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India stating that none of the tests namely CAT, MAT, JMET, ATMA and XAT meets IRMA’s requirement. IRMA was established in recognition of the need for professional managers to work in the rural sector organisations which need a different breed of managers who combine the competencies of typical management graduates with the skills required to operate in the rural organisations context. They also need to have a different attitude and value orientation. In short, the profile of the candidates required to work in rural organisations is quite different from the typical profile of the mainstream business management. IRMA test is designed to identify these required values, attitude and orientation among prospective candidates. We are quite hopeful that Ministry of HRD will recognise these differences.
The candidates may please note that admission to the Institute is possible only through appearing in the test conducted by IRMA.
