I am Milap and I got admissn in ITM Navi Mumbai on 31st last month. I am starting this thread so we can get to know each other.

I had a XAT score - 96.5 pctile.

Hope to meet my baych mates.

Got selected for ITM NAVI MUMBAI on 7 APRIL .

I am knowledge (not literally though )

with a XAT score of 93% & so pathetic a CAT score that I dare not utter

I live in a remote hilly village of UTTARANCHAL where you find scenic beauty a plenty but a single ancient computer for the name of technology.

Dying absolutely to leave all this & run off to amchi MUMBAi

In which part of INDIA are you currently residing?

Do tell more about yourself & your GD / PI experience.

With such a good score you must have received a lot of call .Right?

There is going to be nasty shock in store for you. The climate at Mumbai is as different from Your place as is possible.

Be Warned!

I stay in Pune. Have graduated in B.Sc (Comp Sc) from Fergusson College, Pune.

Got Call from MICA, thats it. Did not apply to any place else. LIBA ignored me becos of sec cut offs.

I had gd topic of Is internet alienating individual from society.

PI was nice, was grilled on general knowl.

This is for people who are going to give gd. Feel free to ask any questions.

First of all it really helps if you have got a high percentile score in xat or cat. What is yours.

Well the GD is conducted in groups of 12. There is usually a panel of three judges. The topic given to me was Whether internet addictionn was alienating individual from society. I argued in favour. The key word here is addiction.

There are two rounds of PI, The first one is taken by a panel of three. It can be a stress interview. They will ask you an yours acads, gk and hobbies. Also abt back ground.

The second one will be a mere formality where you are asked for your preference of city and specialization. Be firm ask only for Navi Mumbai.

Is it that hot in MUMBAI?

I do not mind rains at all.Pretty used to it.It rains for 6 months here

How about the accomodations? I learned from a friend that the picture about acco is not all that rosy

I have got many calls, have converted some( in waiting list of GIM)
but if not GIM then certainly ITM NAVI MUMBAI.

My GD was : The opening up of retail sector in INDIA

WAS GRILLED & TOASTED in the PI

Lot of questions related to finance (as I had opted for it in the form)

Lots of GK plus some on acads,

However the most surprising part is that the panel tried to gauge my desire to

be in ITM MUMBAI.For about 15 min they tried to convince me to take ITM BANGALORE but I stuck to my pt.

Was it the same with you??

By the way which specialization are you focussing on ??

Also PLZ tell me which according to you is the best specialization offered at the institute.

YOUR CAT percentile is not bad at all. I had 10 % lower than yours.

This is what the panel had asked me repeatedly about?

QUOTE: "Why a diff of 20% bet CAT & XAT"

To which I had replied "BAD DAY"

Any way I have got into ITM( I THINK) because of my good Gd,good acads & very good extracurriculars

My specialization is also going to be finance. For minor it will be marketing. What about you. Whats your minor.
I talked to a couple of seniors and they said the finance spec was very good. Also mkting is supposed to be quite good.
