Hi all,

My brother got through IMT, Dubai and taking it up.
Fees seems high But taking SpJAIN, Dubai example ( 1 year course) which had rocking placements even after 1st batch. And IMT, dubai course is a 2 year course. So prospects are good.


I have a enquiry....
How to pay fees. I mean in rupees or dirhams and how to make draft i.e. any branch of SBI can make draft payable at Dubai or only some branches are auhorised to do so.
Need info urgently since have to pay fees by 20th. Please give full info on making draft.

u have to pay in dirhams or us dollars and the draft can be from any nationalised bank like SBI..

well u can submit ur fee in iether in diharms or in us dollar

and standard charted and abn amro can make ur draft in dhirams if u have a/c in thses bank otherwise u can make ur draft in us dollar through nay nationalised bank like icici or sbi

i have no idea what is happening..

yesterday i recieved a prospectus from imt wid a form asking me to report for a written test at gzd campus on 30 june. the form has 3 choices for 3 courses and the agenda says a written test followed by GD/PI.

There is no relevant info in the prospectus as in the fees duration curriculum placements facilities !!

And the whole issue is i havent applied for the course

so what say guys, who all hv taken up the course till now and how many hv recd calls like me

Even I got a call from IMT-D. I am planning for 1 year exec MBA from there in IT Mgmnt. I have 2 years experience in IT industry and 2 months work ex in Japan.
Can some one from SPJ Dubai and IMT G please comment if I should be taking the course up?.
I also read on one of the posts that salaries obtained in Dubai dont attract any tax. Is this info correct ? If yes then who does the taxation ? And what is the minimum salary one should be expecting after this course ?

Please reply asap as depending on this query I will be going to IMT Ghz for my GD and PI.

hi..i'm joinin the imt dubai campus..the fee is 16 and not 15...food not included..i did my share of research before taking that decision...first of all the academic yr is based on the lines of the u.s where batches start in september...the specializtions on offer are dubai centric but will make sense for nebody lookin for a career overseas...the specializtions on offer are...1.banking and international finance...2.retail management...3.project management...the campus is located on the outskirts of dubai city with s.p jain, middlesex and a local university in the vicinity...it has got licensure from the u.a.e education ministry..smthing s.p jain doesnt have...60% of the faculty will be from the ghaziabad campus and the rest locally recruited but talks are on to recruit some european faculty too(reatil has topics such as store design)...my score in cat was 85 percentile...and i had applied for the ghaziabad campus....the dubai campus was to open next year but as things fell in place...it starts this yr itself...thats why on a short notice it has been difficult for imt to come out with fresh ads...so it decided to call ppl for gd/ pi..out of those who had applied for ghaziabad campus...being the first batch 100 % placements cannot be guaranteed ...but the publicity generated in uae has been tremendous...khalleej times has covered the story on various occasions...i personaly feel that the imt brand is sufficient for recruiters to turn up and take look at the students...but placements and subsequent placements will depend on the talent pool at the campus and its quality..not to mention the learning that takes place. to simply put the case...
merits:
1. international exposure
2.dubai rules at retail and retail is only getting bigger in india
3.the brand name 'imt' lets ppl have an option of coming back to india
4.70% of the second yr(2 yr prog) is spent in invidual and group assignments in dubai that is 'if' the prospectus be believed
5. more and more banks and financial enterprises setting shop in dubai...to name a few..citibank,india bulls,american express.
6. avg. salaries in rupees come out to be very rspectable by indian standards
demerits:
1.the first batch..teething problems are inevitable
2.no placement record
3.money factor-however s.p jain charges 91,000 dhirams for its one year course whereas the fees at imt is 123,600 dhirams for twy yrs..even then it is a respectable amount
4.quality standards as far as education goes are yet to be established.
5.no hostel..students are to be housed in apartments(like in mumbai) which are at a distance of 2kms from the campus.
i have tried to share the info that i have...in case u have nething to add or opinions to share please do.

i too got thru IMT Dubai n got a final call but i have turned it down, coz i waz really sceptic bout the future of first batch...i donno if i have taken the right decesion !!

however wht i want to know is that, out of al the ppl who received calls for GD/PI, is there anyone who did not get the final call, for the first or waiting list....coz i think they sent a final cal to each n every student.....is it right?
