i also got a final call from liba. had my gd/pi on 25th. am from chennai. havent made a final decision abt liba since i am still waiting for one more call. i have some queries for seniors regarding the student exchange programme. are students from liba sent abroad every year? if so, how many?

secondly, the prospectus mentions list of recruiters. i'd also like to know abt the average, highest and lowest salary offered? how abt the present outgoing batch? also, what r the college timings? i mean class timings? actually i live abt 45 mins away from liba and want to know if commuting will be possible/easy or not.

finally, will i need to get a laptop? i mean, since i have a comp at home and will have access to comp at liba, will i be able to manage without a laptop?

There is no number limit for the exchange program. However one criteria is that you will have to bear the costs. It will be subsidised to an extent but you will have to bear the cost of travel and the options are between USA and France. On average about 70K for the US on an exchange program for two months during the summer. I personally dont know anyone who went to France though.

Average Salary dep3ends on the industry - Banks and IT offered an average about 5 lakh. Others were lower at about 4.5.

I give approximations because the criterias (CTC vs in hand) are difficult, and the figures I have given are more or less indicative.

I never used a laptop. LIBA has a good lab and since many students do have laptops the desktops are more or less free. Class starts at 9 and can go on till 6 although not in one stretch. Each class for 1.5 hours and not more than 3 - 4 sessions in a day.

Just want to add something about the Chennai climate (Living here for more than 21 yrs )
It's not as bad as you think. It's better than Delhi climate where it's too hot or too cold. I guess you guys will get used to the climate.

Rightly said about the weather! It's not bad at all,and you get quite used to it in time..........Plus there's always the beach...and in case you're slightly more adventurous,there's always Pondicherry!!
Plus,I really,really love the food...Enjoy Chennai LIBA Junta!!!

as for the chennai heat... ok all u delhiites.. i lived in delhi for 15 years and now been in chennai ever since.. the heat is HONESTLY not as bad as it is up north.. all u need to do is have two baths a day if and when u can and also PLEASE make sure everyone carry face wipes or deos.. it really really helps.. soince i studied in Stella MAris college here.. I SHOULD KNOW!!!!

congrats for all those through me first year or maybe second year student lets call it 1.5th year student at liba

souing my summer internship in shalimar paints chennai had been home after the exams for chilling out so am responding so QUICKLY


about the summer internship programmes there are no formal timings like the placement week and this year we had the first ever placements week so not many people were picked up for thier summers during the placements week.

the college will help a lot with the placement coordinator bringing in some reallly good companies the students helping him out and with some small hiccups here and there the college will get every one placed although many people got themselves placed in dammn good companies stipends can vary from nil to 15K depending the company and the projects many times you will have to trade off for a better company or better project vis a vis stipend
