Acturial Scince:Insurance you have to do a trade off between the Premium and the Insured Amount ....thingies..calculate the Asset Value(s) to be insured..
As for Capital Markets and GB they require about 2 years experiences...and excellent academic record(for MS)

I have seen the course structure and found it really interesting. Am currently working in the software division of an investment bank in Bangalore. What I wanted to know was that wrt placements are students taken in a different pool or are they part of the normal placement process ?
Also is there any any distinct "difference" in the course execution between this program and the normal MBA program ?

good to see this thread . I think 2 or 3 courses are only for work-ex people and not for freshers. That includes MBA-Global Bus. and also the course is absolutly new. We will be the first batch so consider that too.

Hi all
Before you guys pick up the form for any of the courses, (For each course application a seperate form is reqd) Please do read the eligibilty and requirements criteria.
You wouldnt want to spend 1100 and then realise u arent eligible for it.
Also , although these courses are New (Retail, Global and Services), placements shouldnt be a hassle as all the courses other than thier standard MBA are made to site through the placements along with the standard MBA students.
(not yet confirmed...but this is what i hear from students and some i may know in the placement comm at nmims)
@sanjay
Not all courses require workex.
I will clear the ambiguity by pasting the requirements for each course as listed in the brochure. For Global Business:-
Students with Graduation / Post-Graduation in Commerce/Science/Engineering with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate from any recognised university in India can apply.
A minimum of two years work experience in related areas is essential.
Company sponsored executives who are being groomed to take responsibilities in International Division are welcome to apply. For Pharma MBA :- Students with Graduation / Post-Graduation in Life Sciences / Bio-Medical / Chemical Engineering / Pharmacy / Medicine can apply (with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate from any recognised university in India). Post Graduates in Sociology / Psychology / Anthropology are also invited to apply. Two years work experience is desirable. For Capital Markets :-
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university. Over and above that, a minimum experience of 1 year in a supervisory capacity is a requirement. Relevant experience would be in organizations recognized by SEBI, IRDA, PFRDA, Forward Markets Commission or any Bank. This is an illustrative list. The experience criterion may be relaxed only in exceptional cases, by a panel of experts in the selection committee For Actuarial Science :-
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Science / Engineering / Technology / Commerce / Arts with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university with good communication skills. Preference will be given to the following:Student members of ASI, IOA, SOA or any other Actuarial body; Members of ICAI, ICWAI, ICFAI; Graduates and Postgraduates in Statistics, Mathematics or Economics; Employees in Actuarial departments of Insurance / Finance / Consulting firms; Associates / Fellows of Insurance Institute of India.
(This is only an illustrative list.) For Retail Management :-
The course is open to graduates from all disciplines with 50% marks in their qualifying degree For Services Management:-
Bright students from any academic discipline, having consistently superior academic record are eligible for this program. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks
