Narsee Monjee Admission/fee refund Goof up

This is a call to all ppl having taken admission to NM for MBA FT 06-08.
After taking admission at nm yesterday it dawned that the fees refund info given on the internet alongwith the call letters is false. on enquiring, the registrar at nm made it clear that the refund details mentioned in the brochure will be followed. what it means is that one is eligible to get the 85% refund of the tuition fees only till 8 days from the date of payment fees and not till APR 13th as mentioned on the net!!!

After 8 days all u get is 65% !! so it translates into a loss of about rs. 28000 on the total fees.SO anyone who has paid the fees on 19th and 20th has only till 27/28th Mar to make a decision instead of the earlier mentioned 13 APr. Now thats bad news for all those who like me have multiple calls since most results will be out only by 1st or 2nd week of April. NM guys admitted their mistake, but said that nothing can be done about it.
I Just thot this should be brought to the notice of all the puys who have taken admits to NM over the last couple of days. I am sure this will be news to a lot of u. In case anyone has any bright ideas about how to get about this situation may please put in their word on this thread. Guys,this is a serious lapse on NM's part and we r gonna end up losing a lot more money!!

I realised this discrepancy .... but I thot that the brochure was printed months back, So the info on net shud be final..

U guys need to do something abt it, how can they publish the terms and conditions on their website differently and still not go with it !! ??

Edit : I was in the first merit list ... had to deposit fees on 19th.. but decided against it. Thank God

This is not acceptable!
I had no idea that this was going to be the case..

and if they are aware of this discrepancy, why wasn't an announcement made during the admission process!!!!


I have only SP as my other call...
am now hoping that SP comes out with the results this week itself!

its so damn unprofessional. and the registrar apologised but said nothing could be done. He said he will send emails to all the ppl to inform them but that doesnt seem to have happened either. so there r gonna b a lot of shocked ppl in apr when they go to refund fees and get back only 65% of their money!! wud love to see the commotion then!! but till then i have some serious thinking to do too.
well lets see what happens. am planning to write an official letter but need some support !!

Huh.. Business Schools making gud business these days out of the admission process...

Thing to Ponder : NM also has 36 management Quota seats... it can easily fill its pockets frm there..

I dont believe this..they cant do this..this translates into duping hundred students..if they were gonna do this they shud not have come out with the refund rules at all..once the "mistake" has been made by them it was upto them to stand up n stick to it..this only gives a bad name to the institute.. and i end up losing 40k.. i think all the guys shud approach the institute.. this is just not done

m asking this bcoz m in waitlist in nm 350 i m at a loss whether i hv a chance of getting thru moi also waiting for imtg converted imi

did u went 2 nm 2 deposit fees i want 2 know wat was the percentage of attendance i mean 2 say was there any absentees

and wat did the process was about and how long did it went

This is fraud. This is not goof up. They must have done it deliberately so that they can earn as much money as possible.

Now that it has been brought to our notice, we must not go to the registrar but the Head, this Mr.Kundap or whoever he is .. On the day of addmission he was talking so much about honestly and social responsibilty. Lets c what is his take on this.

we should even think of filing a case against the institute. COme on, 14000 bucks is no small amount. Tomorow they will change the refund rules again and say sth else..
where is the credibility on their words any more.
