hello freinds.....like many aspiring ppl i too have certain apprehensions in joining non-IIm schools...of course we would all like to know the diffrence in the profiles (or similarities) offered by organizations accross in diffrent B schools.........

like for starting....few investment banks recruit non-IIMs for Asst manger analytics...and for Associates Mnager(A step higher) from IIMs.........

hope to get a fruitful observations and insights from gyan gurus accross the various streams ...from diffrent B schools to plz come up and throw some light in the prevalent scnario........this would help us in analyzing a school vis a vis the stream to which in specialize to

This type of comparision will lack credibilty n wld lead to a lot of mud slinging amongst B schoolers

hii nakul and every1......thanx for the 1st pot in this thread....welll i do agree that it may create confusions but...same could happen and is happening in other threads pertaining to indivisual schools......as far as wrong info is concerned ..even it can be passdd in any similar threads.........

in todays booming economy 100% placemnt is not a matter of rejoice...the job profile matters a lot.......

this thread will help in following respects:-

1. give a chance to many candidates to know the job profiles(with posts/positions) of an MBA in various sectors including IT,Operations,Finance..etc

2. Help him to decide which stream to opt in a particular school....

3. Help him decide whther to join a particular school as joining a B-school(particularly non IIMs.....a plethora of them are cuming now and then) would be a virtual end to his desires to be in IIMs.........its his last chance to be at the helm .....

i think one of the objectives of paagalguy forum is to clarify the students and remove all kinds of confusions...and ofcourse break any knids of unwarraanted fancies a B-school aspuirant aspires after MBA....lets us get realistic pictures.....

and u wanna go to non iim college
what is the pay u get and which place are u located i mean jsr,lucknow, pune or sales &service.. and when did u join it i have one of my seniors there but he is in jsr .
i heard that tata motors pays a good amount..........

I think that all kinds of profiles are offered @ top 25 Bschools ... Take a look at IMI placements or Nirma placements this year , even @ SIBM a few consulting companies came , but i think we can be sure that firms in the league of BCG or Mackinsey only go to IIMS .. Me thinking this may change in a few years ...
I think this thread might degenerate into Bschool camparisons and Mods may lock it ...

Well I believe if pepole can restrict their posts to just listing the various profiles offered by companies at each b-school..the chances of aforesaid degeneration are minimal..

As far as the mods are concerned..I believe they are quite conscious of the fact that this kind of information can prove to be really beneficial towards making a final decision.

It might be a good idea to check institues official placement records for analysis, rather than scout for arbit posts.

and tata motors pays 4.8 - 5.3 lakhs p.a. (depending upon the place u're posted at) to fresh graduates.
