yes my friend gets just around 12 to 13k/month he is a get in jsr do they have differential package depending on the plant .. i hope rohit answers this as he is in jsr

may be u are telling the ctc pakage is 4.8 to5.2 but the actual is very less

i did quote the ctc
but the in hand salary is around 24+, it ought to be since they cannot quote 5 lakh p.a. and give u 1.44 lakh p.a. @12k/month

some gyaan from the recruiters side.

If I am a recruiter then I would look at two factors
1) skillsets available
2) cost of hire

typically skillsets available would be comparable across the B schools in India.. because most have similar demography (acads / workex) and have similar course content (yep it's true for most of the colleges which have a pre-assembled course curriculum there would be almost similar course content for each paper)......

The skillsets give you a JD match... hence like CoolRahine pointed out a recruiter would want to pick up a profile like AM Analytics from a IIMA or MDI or a SIM.... these guys would work the same Job Description and have the same career path.

The only difference is the cost of hire... with the value of the brand and with sheer chutzpah on the candidate's part you would have people at the same Grade working for a different CTC... for the same recruiter.

The other factor which effects the cost of hire is the association ... if Citibank has picked up a AM Analytics for a CTC of 6.5 in 2005 placements then this AM Analytics would have been appraised and would have recieved a increment .... say the CTC for FY07 is 7.75... then Citibank HR would not offer anything more than 7.5 to a new hire from the same college (by the same token they would not offer anything less than 6.5).

now the profiles this thread is trying to discuss.... are they only JDs or the C&B as well.


All views my own...expressed with reference to the context of the impending pre MBA entrance interview.

its good that u are going to FMS...
any way i dont know wht u are saying may be u are in marketing or something else
but i would like to tell u that i was myself a GET2003 at tata motors JSR and my basic was 10350 and in hand was around 11000.... surprised???????
and the GET joining in 2005 got something around 13 as basic.... and myself had a basic of 15 after two years ..

so takecare in the future .. things are not always the way they are...
any way trust me on any day u will not get 20k as starting in TM what ever the package says

hello pankaj sir and et al.......well this thread is becuming TATA MOTORS specific...well i do rember u pankaj sir(if u rthe one i borrowed a cd from and never returned back )......

well for the starters or freshers in particular....plz never go by CTCs..... A TATA MOTORS(Jamshedpur) CTC includes many things like.....medical benefits(intangibles)........HRA(if company gives accomadation....no HRA......).........highest performance awards(whcih only 2 out of 50-60 ppl in a grp gets)........and many bla bla..............always refer to Gross pay...subtract Annual Income Tax...ur savings and u get ur inhand pay package......perks included in CTCs varies from company to company.........but the similarity is that it never gives true picture.........

and yes though TATA MOTORS CTC is 4.5-5 lakh for starting......gross pay comes down to 2.5-3 lakh per annum.......and yes TATA MOTORS is regarded as one of the most ethical compnies and best paid company.in manufacturing..........ull can well gauge the situation in other orgs too..........

that was one of the reasons for starting this thread........i hope its clearing many clouds..and as refreerd by others it may not cum in the preview of moral policing.........

I request seniors from various Bschools to turn up and clear doubts regardng the CTCs and gross pays various orgs offer.........and plz i never meant that Associate posts in investment bank is not offered in Non-IIMs......but these r only few..........

anyway as for information do please also mention the post/positions offered to operations mngers /system mangers......(for general knowledge....many candidates dont know wat they r going to do after MBA)

i hope this thread acts more as a true factual display of job profiles rather than comparisons..........we r well mature to monitor our own posts than to bring in moderators into the picture(with all due respects to them)

it takes INR 40000 (not sure abt the value) at top campuses for a recruiter to get a student.This fees is payed to the college by the recruiter. Also, theres some cost involved on showing up on day 0,1,2 etc. So is this all added to the CTC at the top campuses, n hence a minor inflation in the figures???


What's obvious is obviously wrong
