Dear All,

This is my first post to PG. I have been reading a lot here though.
I have 4+ yrs of IT exp. and I have joined the course PT-PGPM Oct `09. I discussed about this course with a lot of people and came to a conclusion that this course suits me and I should go for it. I would briefly try to write down the pros and cons of this course.

Pros:
1) Great learning. Faculty for PTPGPM is almost same as PGPM.
2) This course in recognized well in the industry, specially in NCR.
3) People working in gurgaon will find it very easy to commute.
4) This course is closest to any 2 year regular MBA.
5) People having decent profile and working in good companies join this course. You will get a chance to network with them and get their help for job postings in their companies.

Cons:
1) Its almost impossible to switch your career from IT to some other field.
2) Fees is very high.
3) No placement assistance.

I talked to people like SPM in Infosys, DGM in IBM, Manager in Sunlife Financials, Student in NITIE, Student in MDI, Student in Emory University US etc . Conclusion was that if I wish to stay in IT, this course will certainly add value to my profile. I wish to excel in general management or to go towards the role of BDM,Presales etc. I believe that with this course I will be able to acheive my goals.

If anyone is looking for details about the types of questions, pattern etc can contact me as well.

Please let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks,
Gaurav
