Hello all,
It would be nice and great if some body can share his/her thoughts about joining the part time post graduate programme with MDI. I would like to know how much worth it is and what value it imparts to an individual who completes the same . One is spending atleast 3 years of efforts in this. Does one gets any value after then same -- does the corporate world - private and public organizations recognize this MBA ?

I have been selected in PT-PGPM - MDI, October 2009 batch .
My profile is :
9 years of work experience in Information Technology.
I am wondering is it worth to put in hard work and efforts for 3 years in this programme.

What kind of benefits I can get after completing this MBA ?
Also I would like to know can this programme of 3 years be fit into 2 years and completed if some body wants to do in 2 years ?

Any thoughts will be really appreciated.

Divya Prakash, I also have 9 years exp in IT. same dilemma for me. But I am waitlisted. Lets see. I will probably join if I get a chance.

There is another concern on this thread, that they are now offering diplomas which specifically mention Part Time, which was not the case earlier. In other words..ealrier it was exactly the same PGPM diploma which full time guys get. Is this really a matter of concern ? Can someone throw light on this ?

Also I read on Income tax website, that you get tax benefit under section 80E for higher education loan but only for full time courses ? Can anyone share the experience of education loan in context of Income tax benefit ?

But still not getting confidence to join it.


it is 3 years of prog. and i am not sure about the return of the course !!

dude actually I talked to lot of people (some of them who are currently doing this program also) but didnt get great feedback.

I would suggest that you can do it but dont keep any expectations after completion of the course.

If your current organization has any policy of promoting you or changing your profile after part time mba then I guess you can go for the course.

Ppl told me to join the course as personality development course and for the sake of .. if you really want to do mba.

Thus I am not joining .

Moreover 3 years is a long time i think it will be really difficult for me to manage for 3 years ?( 3 days a week classes).
