GD topic : Who says consumer is the king?
we were pretty lucky, coz other groups got kooky topics like woman make bad managers... and another one was women in jobs and makes for a bad home life ...or something like that...not sure of the exact words, tho... i guess posts after mine will tell...

GD, was ok, not really a fish market, but no one stood out... it was in a nice looking conference room, good atmosphere!!! Didnt go thru very compelling points...

got 2 mins to write points in beginning and got 13 mins to discuss.

PI:
had to wait a while(abt 45 mins) and then was ushered by some seniors to the PI panels... were abt 5 panels i think...
my panel: panel no 2: 3 guys= A(young), B(old), C(middle aged)

C: have a seat
me: thank u sir
B: so ur from the same college (refering to prev guy)
me: yes sir
B: so u also have a call frm iitb?
me: yes sir
B: SO where will u go?
me: said some stuff abt home turf (im frm delhi) and abt how 3 generations of family are from iitd...blah blah ...he seemed satisfied...
B: So what are ur long terms goals

B: so what has ur education taught u, besides tech knowledge

B: what in ur personality will help u be a manager, and what will not help?

me: dont recall

me: well thats where avogadros number comes from, he said that ...(they interupted me here)

C: u are sure?
me: yes sir
C: how does a presure cooker work?
me: said something horribly wrong... they started laughing
C: why do u use a pressure cooker anyway?
me: to save gas..... everyone laughs, including me.... by now all of us were laughing like we're on grass....
B: (laughing)ok, thank u
me: (laughing) thank u sir.



overall impression....... pretty ok, messed up some answers but they didnt stress much, gave time to think and correct.... so was ok i think...except the pressure cooker answer which struck me later....arrgh...very friendly and cordial, otherwise... was over in 15-20 mins...


best part, got to meet pgites, naval and all.... have got to say, great show guys... wonderful management of the event, everything went like clockwork.... not much waiting, too...very friendly seniors... and wonderful building, nice interiors.... nice surroundings too... the whole area gives a good impression...

hello everyone!
i had my GD/PI at 1'O clock slot today at DMS,delhi.
it was a nice experience overall. i was at the audi at 12 30 pm. then we had a presentation on the insti.as i was putting up at the hostel, i came to know in advance that the GD topics were very generic like "should there be reservation?","female education hinders matrimony chances" ,"should there be privitization" et al.and yes they were fish markets:(

i had my GD at 3 15 after a loooong wait. topic was-women make lousy managers. now obviously no one said yes(it's a b school yaar,who'd agree?)....there were 8 of us sitting in 2 parallel rows...sitting arrangement was a bit odd as eye-contact was difficult with people sitting in your row....

i started the GD with some arbit gyan...came 4-5 times with decent points...i won't call it a chaos but yes there were signs of you-know-wat...

chalo then we had to wait for 1 hr..after this i was alloted panel 1
panel 1 had prof SS yadav(S)...he's the HOD, one gentleman(G) and a lady(L)...hr...

Well I had a tragic end to my IIT D experience. Had my GD/PI on 10th but my Air Deccan flight on 9th eve from Pune got cancelled and on 10th morning because of fog at Delhi airport couldn't land on time.
Rescheduled my GD/Pi to 11th. GD was OK but in the PI I was screwed up badly because of some ******* clerk of my college. I had passed out in 2003 from an NIT and 1 year after passing out from the college we were given the degress in the convocation. I didn't attend the convo and collected the degree from coll last year and never had seen it in much detail. By mistake its written on the degree as M-Tech instead of B_tech. Just as int started one prof noticed it on the xerox and asked whether I had done MTech??? I was shocked. Rest of the Int was just a formality after that. I'm gonna screw up that college clerk now.

WORDs OF ADVICElz before u hav a gd u get sometime to inetract with ur group plz utilize those min to make a common understanding so that u dont create a fish market in there....it certainly helped my group n our gd went very well......lot of the gds had bcum fishmarkets....

I had my IITD GD/PI today...many familiar faces made my exp a good one...

first there was a presentation...which was impressive...then some photography...with 'pathshala' song in the background...

after that we were divided in the grp of 12...mine was the 4th one...

We were asked to select our GD topic...two three guys asked for some Social topics...so finally the panel gave us.."Women are poor managers". there were 4 girls in the grp ...the GD went mast...no fishmarket...but there were 2 guys , very aggressive...were cutting everyone...I made 2-3 entries...most of them were examples...

Then, PI...I was alloted the panel 4....

I am a MECHANICAL ENGG FRESHER....
