NIFT PG Management 2006 Anyone...!

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone is giving the NIFT Management Exam on 12 Feb'2006...!
I can't seem to find any relevant material in relation to the exam...Here is a Break up of the exam as sent to me by IMS

The eligibitlity criteria for NIFT's PG Programme in Fashion Management is A three years Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline recognised by the AIU or Diploma in Accessory / Fashion Design / FIT from NIFT only.

Further, the NIFT entrance test consists of 2 sub test:
1. General Ability Test
2. Managerial Ability Test

General Ability Test: This test will comprise various sub-test as given below :
1. Quantitative Ability
2. Communication Ability
3. English Comprehension
4. Analytical Ability
5. General KNowledge and Current Affairs
6. Thematic Apperception Test
The Thematic Apperception Test aims to judge the candidates reaction to a series of images.

Managerial Ability test: It is a test to judge the managerial effectiveness and inter personnel skills of the candidates. This test comprises various sub tests as given below:

1. Case Study: This sub test is based on a situation of the industry environment it helps to evaluate the candidates managerial ability.

2. Business Knowledge Test: This sub test is to judge the knowledge of a candidate on fundamentals of the textiles, Apparel Industry, Import & Export sectors, WTO issues related to Textile, Apparel Brand etc.

3. Logical Ability: This sub test is aimed to evaluate the candidates ability to identify the logic or reason involved in a particular problem given and applying the logic in solving the problem. Concepts and practice of creative and lateral thinking is likely to be useful.

Does anyone have some sample papers or case studies, One can practice with..!

Count me in!
..though had completely forgotten about it in the CATscore/XAT frenzy...

Have no clue how to go abt it...though have taken their undergrad test for one of their prgm..back then it was mini cat( but back then was able to crack it) ..with some creative stuff thrown in..like designing an invitation to a movie premeire...(Spiderman ..)..with the stuff provided..then designing a handbag..if i remem correctly.. Anyways this will not have all that stuff..since its managment course..

Hi guyz..
Me too is appearing for the NIFT test and i really have no idea how to prepare. I walked in IMS chd. office today and tried to enquire about the exam but it seems that those guyz were also not well prepared to answer our querries. In my college i am the only one who will be taking the test so not much help here.
My two cents are :1) we wont be needing somethin extra for this test. (After taking five tests in a period of 50 days.. ) i feel that it's just another one..2) Case studies would be on the same lines of whatever we prepare for our interviews (CAT/SNAP/JMET)..

Hi guys,

I too am appearing for PG in Fashion Management, this February, the 12th. I have some queries?

1. What is the placement scene with regards to kind of profiles of the jobs offered, easy / difficult placements,

2. Where to get aggregated brand info? like that required for the exam?

If somebody could answer them for me soon, I would be grateful.

Hey Guys,

Chalo..I'm happy that I'm not the only one giving NIFT PG Management..!
The placement thing really does not bother me, As the market for Retail and Merchandising is here to stay and is always booming...!
NIFT in itself is as reputed as the IIM's or so..! What I did manage to find was that I downloaded some NIFT sample papers from the NIFT site, Does anyone else have any material that will help us make it into NIFT...!

i am also in...with CAT disappointing at all..now was the turn for SIBM..yeh log kya pagal hain 97.25 ki cuttoff dekar ..leave it yaar...
any one with any material..specially GK section..do help..

The last date to apply to NIFT was Around 14- 15 Dec'2005...However you want to check with AIMA as the forms are to be sent there and they will be conducting the entrances..Wish you luck..!
BTW The NIFT Acknowledgement card just came through...Waiting for the Admit card now..!
