NIFT PG Management 2006 Anyone...!

hey guys

i am a student of PGPFM , NIFT HYD....well bout the paper u need not worry its realtively very easy specialy if ve prepared for the other mba enterances it wud be a cake walk. ...go thru the sample papers well ,, last yr sum ques were repaeted...jus work a bit on gk etc,...bout the course a lot has been posted by our seniors in other centres too...so jus use the search option..

Hi all..
Today in our institute we had a seminar from some Career Launcher peoples. One of the speakers was Mr. Aakash Gautam and at the end i came to know that he is a passout from NIFT Delhi (UG and PGPFM ). Well i chatted with him a little and he was of the same opinion that the test will be a cakewalk..

Neways after doing the CATwalk and SNAPPING away our chances guyz let's better get ready for this CAKE WALK and otherwise while others will grab a bite of the cake and we would keep walking the walk.
He said that though the placement scenario is not very good but still you'll get a salary figure of around 3.5-5 lacs/p.a. and above all that will come with the glamour associated with the fashion industry.
he has worked in organizations like GAP (USA) and above all he positively asked me to go for it as life has become difficult for me at 92.26%ile in CAT and 87.25 in SNAP.. Man so near but yet so far..

Okay guyz let's have a crack at this NIFT thing..

me takin d nift exam n have seen d sample papers available on d website..but m clueless bout d cutoffs...out of a total of 240 at wat score shud one expect a call??
plz help!!!!!

ok my question is specially 4 sonal...kindly give us sum gyaan on how to prepare 4 d gk part specifically d industry n fashion related brands n all....its provin a tuff thing to get dis info...
help asap..

hey all

sorry cudnt repky befre kinda buzy wid this colege fest cumin up....well bout the gk part i dint prepare uch....as i rem i went thru the qs in sample paper n prepared for similar ones tht cud be asked...like studied a bit on brands , popula garment industries here in india..like ludhiana famous for cotton knitwear etc stuff, the differnt types of garments, hey all the qs were not on this ...there wer also sum generla ones sum major happenings of year etc ...wch helped me....if u really want to slog for gk u can go thru images mag or check it s websites imagesfashion.com , imagesretail.com this wud really hepl u in interview alos.....well my quant fundas were really clear tht hepled me to complete the paper much before time....
dont wrry guys repare on the same lines u ve been doin ...theres no negative markin also
so jus chill
if still ny doubts bout preparation i wud ve to refer em to my classmates....

Hi..Tulika.
Can't predict the cutoff as i am on the same boat with you.. I am writing the entrance test this Feb. Well the general rule is that, 50% score will sail you through with any kind of management entrance test in India.. So you can very well aim for an attempt of like 70% of the total questions with an accuracy level of 70%..

I have heard that there is no negative marking as such so a few might get luckier on that day. But neways, focus on getting atleast 50% score..

Just recieved my admit card ..centre at shyam lal college ,delhi
also one query ..at the back of the admit card .. it mentions two timings ..one is 10-12pm and the other 2-4 pm for Gat & Mat respectively ..does anyone know what this is all about....we'll be writing two papers????

yeah...
we have to write two papers.
GAT consists of usual B-school entrance stuff while, MAT will be comprising of the logical test and business domain test. It will have sections like GK and Case Studies kind of things.
So all together it will be a four hour test with a two hour break in between...

My center is at Chandigarh.. just wondering anybody on this thread from Chandigarh??
