Howz the placement scene....???

Hey Guys and Gals,
nice to see a decently good response to the thread....i just wish that a few of the students studying at SIMS would see it and answer our queries....in the meantime let me just share my exp with you....this is my 2nd attempt.....last year i did get a call from SIMS at a score of 54 while the cut off last year was somewhere arnd 45 or so......nthing more though....
I had applied to the dual course but this year i believe that they don't ask 4 the specialisation in the form so that would make it better for people who want to go in for dual and a lil bad 4 the the people who want to get in to Hr or IB........cz dual is the most in demand and there's the toughest competition 4 dual tilll last year.....
i had my gd/intervw at army public in delhi......
we frst had a case study wherein my entire grp didn't know wat they were talking abt....apparently i guess none of them had been ever to CL or Ims.....it was really bad......
then i had 2 sets of interviews both with a different pannel of 3 and the interviews went quite well thus making it a lil difficult 4 me to believe that my name didn't appear in the final list.....hope i'm more lucky this time......
and ya i think work exp is given a lot of pref but i guess students at SIMS would be in a better position to tell us.......so help us out guys..............
and ya any one wants to call up and get the detailed description of what exactly happened last year at the Gd/Pi stage is most welcome.....my delhi nbr is <snipped>

Finally ,
something to cheer abt.Where has all the guys of SIMS have gone ,dont they surf the net and they say that there entire campus is wi-fi enabled ,I really feel sorry for it.I have also applied to SIMS after meeting one of the alumni frm SIMS in mumbai local train he was wearing SIMS , T Shirt. That guy encouraged me to go ahead and apply. He was working with accenture and said that they had 100 % placements with average salary around 4.5.
frends I dont know should I trust him or not coz average salary and placements doesnt matter to me coz my target would be to be in top 10% tile of the class and u would definetly land up good placement.
Regards,

Hey Diksha,
Till last year SIMS had limited seats for each specialisation........
120 for the dual specialisation
60 for int. business
60 for HR
and so on............ and u had to apply for a paticular one while filling up the form and it takes no Einstein to tell us that the most competition used to be for the 120 dual seats......
so say like last year there were 500 odd students competeing for the 120 dual seats but only abt 120 odd for the Int. business one.............so that made the selection ratio for the other courses higher...........
however this year ,atleast from what I can make out from the prospectus and the form, all of us once we get a call will be competing for all the seats and then choose our area of specialisation once we are through...........
so while that would mean that the selection ratio of students who want the dual specialisation will get better the ration for the students interested in other courses will go down...........so thats what i meant......hope i was able to get through to you..........incase its still not clear just forget about it.........its not important..........the snap result comes out 2morrow and then we would get a fair idea about whether we wld be getting a call or not.............all the best to everyone...........
As for you, Rocky,i would say you should trust him cause SIMS placements have been getting better each year......they get good summers and even better final placements.....i have done a lot of reasearch on the instt...............its really worth getting into.........
and of crse if you are among the top few then you are bound to end up with a very good placement...............
And still calling out all students from SIMS..............where are you guys.........?????????/
