Does SPJ consider acads for this course too seriously?Second question is, does SP Jain consider sectional cutoffs for the 1 year course?

SP Jain considers GMAT/CAT/XAT scores...the scores in the current batch vary between 600-750 (GMAT)...88 percentile to 99 percentile (CAT) and 90 to 99 percentile in XAT...
Batch profile consistes of people with at least 4.5 yrs n max of 11 yrs...ppl from L&T Infotech,PWC,TCS,Infosys,Accenture,HPCL,GE,General Motors,Toyota Motors,TATA Motors,NTPC, DRDO,Glaxo Smithkline, HLL, RIL etc are in the batch...
As far as past acads r concenrned then ppl from IITs,BITS,NITs are a part of the batch...
Also v have ppl who are national level champion in archery (u will find vry few ppl in this field), ppl who have played county cricket in UK etc...
in short unlike other MBA colleges, SPJ does not consider only score bt also ur past acads,wrk experience,extra curricular get a due weightage...
Hope this clarifies wat SPJ look for in 1 yr batch...any queries pls revert...

When are the application dates expected for jan 2010 intake, and can you throw some light on the application process?

And, does SPJain have sectional cutoffs for CAT Scores for 1yr PGDM?

well applications will be out soon...its a small one page application unlike other 1yr B schools...u need valid GMAT/CAT/XAT score to apply...ur online applications will be evaluated by adcomm here....they consider various criteria to send calls like ur past work ex (both quality n quantity), past acads,extra curricular, score etc...then they send u interview call alongwith a form...this form asks u 2 write a few essays n more info abt u...interview is one day process comprising various rounds...1st round of interview is a grp intrvw whr a batch of 5-6 ppl will be evaluated by a panel of faculty...if u clear tat then u will b given some pschychometric tests n all...then 2nd round of interview...again a grp intrvw...this intrvw is more technical n on current affairs...

I have a XAT 2008 score of 96%ile is it valid for applying for jan 2010 batch, 4.5 yrs of exp by dec 09 is ok to apply ? or my application will get rejected

I think XAT 2008 scores wont help. XAT is valid for 1 yr only. Ur work ex is on the borderline but i think u shud apply with 4.5 yrs wrk ex.I am also having the same wrk ex and m studying here.Just take CAT/XAT/GMAT and apply...U can apply without scores as well.
