Please tell us about yur experience of being a part of IIT R.It surely carries IIT Brand Name but i feel it is in a very nascent stage.

Hows the Faculty,Infrastructure for MBA,Placements and Companies visiting. Where would you place it in terms of rankings..?

well as for my experience goes i m very satisfied with my decision to join this institute..

and yes i acknowledge your apprehensions about a new IIT, but its not the way people percieve..
i must tell u the this place is 150 years old, so u can imagine the strong alumuni of IIT R ..

and even before it became an IIT , roorkee was an insititue of national importance ..

so one should not worry about the new IIT status ..for example IIT guwahti .. its a new IIT but look at thier track record ...

so the bottom line is an IIT is an IIT ..

and i feel my other IIT mates would defiantely agree


when u come to the department of management studies ..which is fairly new ..
so u cant compare it with VGSOM n SJSOM which are 15 yers old or DMS, IIT D which is 8 yers old ..

these insti have already proved thier worth and thier students are perofming really well across the board ...

now IIT K, IIT M n IIT R stared thier program a bit late that is 2001 , but in these small number of years they have achieved a lot amd thier gorwth is immense

so u can imagine that in coming years all the IIT SOMs and DoMS will be a name to reckon with ..

reagrding FACULTY and INFRA ..its impsooible to beat any IIT ..
even IIT R has a most adavanced and developed infrasturvture ...
i mean "u name and they have it .." , this is the kind of infra here

faculty again here really very good . u must be knwig tht only PHDs are allowed to teach im IITs ..so all the profs and assitant profs are PHd s ..
and the faculty here is good mix of ppl form academics and industry
apart from tht, due to proximity to delhi many profs come from delhi(frm FMS , IITD , IIFT )

well about the placements ..last year the average figure boiled down to 4.66 lacs

the placement week will start frm tommorow so wil get u the latest figures
