hi palak ..
as i have said earlier guessing ranks will be to much of crystal gazing into the future
but as TIME n other coaching instis prediction u might land up with ranks around 1000 - 1500
IIT R called upto rank 1800 for freshers and 2100 for work ex.
so u have a good chance of getting a call from IIT R
as for yur acads goes , u dont have any issues there
ATB

Hi Folks,
I m RC Mba 2nd yr student at DoMS IIT-R. Even 2 yrs down the line I very well understand n feel the anxiety of so many of you regarding calls at IITs. About IIT-R at least I can tell U nothing concrete can be told until Ranks are out. So guys have some patience. Also Its not just rank but also a lot of other things including your profile (not acads) and your personality apparent from your profile that may play a role. Its a complex selection procedure.
Regarding the institute I believe my friends have given you a good detail about it. All I can think of adding is that, an institute which has tested the highs and lows of time for 150 years and which has always managed to be a forerunner , that institute must have something really good embedded in it. Its only when you are here as a student you realize what that is and what that makes out of you. We call that transformation to a 'Thomosonian'.
Cheers
RC

Hi all..
here's wishing everyone a very happy and prosperous new yr.
I wanted to know how much time the IITs take to roll out the call list. We get our ranks on 6th Jan and then we apply to the various IITs. I guess the last date is around 25th Jan. So how long do we have to wait to get know whether we are called for the interview or not?
Also I wanted to know the kind of companies that come in IIT-R for campus. Can Ajit or any other senior list them?
My credentials.
JMET 48-52
X 82.6 (CBSE)
XII 80.6 (CBSE)
BE 69.5 (E & I)
I have a work ex of 1.5 yrs with IBM and HSBC software. Is there any hope?
Thanks in anticipation.
Cheers!
anusha
