How was IIFT '06 - 27-11-2005, 12:58 PM

hi guys!!

that IIFT 06 is over....post ur exp and attempts

ATB

I am thankful for that period of my life because it hardened me and enabled me to be tough as I now am.And I am even more thankful because I appreciate the fact that I was thus saved from the emptiness of a life of ease and that a mother's darling was taken from tender arms and handed over to adversity as a new mother.

IIFT 06: Analysis & Discussion - 27-11-2005, 01:00 PM

Hi Guys,

The IIFT this time had less focus on business awareness as compared to last year . This time more of general awareness was there. Also english had questions which either were to be left or u had to be an etymologist to solve them i.e. questions on the origin of words. Maths was decent and the DI section had a logical bent to it. RC according to me was easy to read but questions were inference based.

I wonder what would be the cutoffs.....

cheers

Pranav

i agree plus with the 1/3rd negative the idea of taking a risk n guessing went for a toss...genrally eng is my strength but today i felt RC was v tuff...or rather boring..coz u had to read the whole passage to get the answers i hope the scores overall r not too high ...also those who remember a few questions please post so that atleast for the english n gk part we can judge how well we have fared ....tc

IIFT Test-2006 Analysis and Discussions. - 27-11-2005, 01:07 PM

With the pattern change and the in increase in the penalty for wrong answers, will the cutoffs come down? Normally it was said that a score of around 50 is required. Will it come down? if so how steep will the fall be?

Some one please reply..................

I too felt that verbal was different(not so sure about difficult). yesit was really awkward. quantz was easy and if we had brushed up 12th std complex nos and engg first year stuff, i guess it would have been the easiest section. Did a couple of sets od DI but avoided it as I had a nightmare in CAT plus the fact that there are no sectional cut-offs. jus to make sure, attempted some 10-12 questions of DI. How many questions did u guys attempt.

Re: How was IIFT '06 - 27-11-2005, 01:11 PM

guys i feel the cutoffs should be lower , i.e abut 41-42 because

1.1/3 negative marking which was 1/5 last year
2.lesser questions (185 vs 196)
3.Pretty difficult RC and DI
4.The overall scoring EU/Vocab section being alloted lesser weightage

adios IIFT '06
