Hi,

This is a query on behalf of a friend.

Are there any women in the course? and How would you rate the course and the placements for women? will it be too tough or difficult for women??

Thanks a lot

Hi Santosh,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

If you could elaborate on that with some examples or data it would be nice.

Actually, from the looks of its (and from outside), something like forrestry management looks a bit on the rough side. So example of past women students' job profile would be nice. also some data about no of women presently in course would be nice.

similarily for placements.

Thanks again.

Re: Iifm 2006-2008 - 19-02-2006, 02:45 PM

hi

In our batch PFM 2004-06 there are 9 girls (out of 43). though the juniz are not that fortunate as they have only 4 girls (out of 41).
the job profile of girls is given below

Aide et Action has offered job to 3 girls, they would be incharge of educational programmes being funded by Aide et Action (a french funding agency).

SKS Microfinance has offered job to 3 girls, they would be appointed as area manager looking after 12-15 micro -finance instiution, they would also be responsible to develope their business and expand operations.

Chattisgarh Rural Development Department has offered job for one girl, she would be managing the implemention of National Rural Employement Gurantee Scheme in Chattisgarh, (district level posting).

PRADAN offerd job to 2 girls as coordinator.

ATREE offered job for one girl for thier project on environmental taxation.

NIF (National Innovation Foundation) offered job for 2 girls. The job profile is to develop business plan for rural innovation and help them in commercialization.

DA Taarahat offered job to one girl, as incharge of product and business development.

CMFR Chennai offered jobs to 2 girls, take home salary 32 k per month, with posting in chennai

So 14 jobs were offered to 9 girls ( rest assured none of them going to work in forest!!)

And none of these girls would be taking home less than Rs. 16000 after all the deducations and cuttings..

I am not quoting the CTC figures (as normally done by most of the b-schools)
