Queries about FMS - MBA (MS) FT would be addressed through this thread. The dates for the exam has not been announced and as and when the details are out they would be updated here. We at FMS would try and address all the queries that would come.

it wuld be really helpful for aspirants like me...
and whts the cut off for MS program?
and which industry recruits the MS ppl?

hi all,

MBA (MS) is a unique course catering to the need gap that exists in the Service industry which contributes more than half of our GDP.
Examples of service industries are Consultancy, Financial Services (Banks, Mutual Funds, Insurance), Retail, IT & ITES, Health care, Hospitality and the list goes on...
These industries have been the major recruiters across the top notch B-Schools over the years. Hence the opportunities are plenty.

The number of questions last year were 175 and a decent attempt was 140 +. It again depends on the paper that would come this year.

I had appeared for the exam last year. The paper was of traditional pattern of FMS...full with English and almost 90% paper was full of sitters.

Attempts were certainly on higher side, avg being 155+...that was reflected in cut off too...it was 135+ (I regret i missed it by a whisker)

All said and done, I m completely unaware of the placement scenerio and job profiles!!! The first batch must hav passed out this year...if someone from FMS can throw some light on this.

The notification is expected this sunday (2nd october 2005). There would be only one notification for both the Full time Programmes offered by FMS - MBA(MS) and MBA.

The exam for MBA (MS) would be on January 14th and for MBA it would be on January 15th.

So start preparing hard.....

Hi Bhavik,

I need to get my eligibility for FMS clarified.
I am a B.E with aggregrate of 8 sems as 59.2%
But since the MUMBAI Univ considers only VII th and VIII th sems for class, I have a First Class on my Certificate.
Do I qualify for FMS exam. ?
In the next rounds will this be a factor for selection/rejection.

Hi,

Regarding your query about meeting the minimum percentage, it depends on what is imprinted on your Final degree Ceritificate. Since you say Mumbai University considers only the last 2 semesters for awarding the degree, i believe there shouldn't be a problem with that.
But if it is lesser than 60%, i am sorry that will be an issue...

Hi Aspirants,

The notifications for MBA-MS FT and MBA FT are out..You can check up all the major newspapers for the notification. The exams are scheduled one after the other(MBA-MS on 14th Jan and MBA on 15th of January). So it is going to be one really long weekend...
