Hi All,
Hey folks... me going hammer and tongs on CAT...scoring decent in all MOCKS.
Hence kind of switched off from PG........for some time.
Good to see so many posts and junta joining Prof K.
Hey MONA LISA: Nice to know that u too have joined the bandwagon. Best Luck for ur prelims.
PRAGS/PRATSY: Excuse me for a few months for not being able to pen Essays. I want to kind of get CAT in my grip, get calls from atleast B & C and then Prof. K will do the rest for GD/PI`s.
TISSIANS- Keep the momentum and heat on.
Bye.

Hey,
CAT is making me a RAT now. Just over a month to go. Am trying to fire on all cylinders.
PRATSY: I understand the financial bit. I can only speak for self here. My view has been that if I have to reach my ultimate destination which is IIM`S/XL/TISS, then I need THE BEST, to groom me. And yes NO COMPROMISE here, as my life will come to a full stop, if I dont make it. In this pursuit, I obviously will have to shell out from the financial perspective, to make my dream come true.
I feel that the Best grooming mostly has a PRICE to pay. I believe that "if u throw peanuts, you only get monkeys". As compared to my ultimate rewards when I am into the Big league, today`s financials are just akin to the right investment.
Whatya say folks...Some more responses to Pratsy`s query.
Hey, now going back to my sweetheart---CAT.

Hi All,
Was busy with my Prelims. 2 more papers still next week.
Like me I gather from the posts here that some have joined Prof. Kamat for his grooming.
I have paid INR 7K to him and balance of 5.5 K has to be paid in Jan.
PRATSY: On meeting him, I realised that what I would be paying is nothing as compared to what I will be gaining. No exaggerations here, but I would have joined him even if the fees were more. Cos he comes from a position of strength, confidence, with 10 years of very high levels of success, having placed students in Top B-schools.
A detailed plan was explained to me by him and must admit that it is very methodical, elaborate and takes you through the nooks and corners. I will start working on it once my prelims are over mid next week.
Till then bye.
Thanks.
MONALISA.

HELLO ALL,
Back after some time. B.Com classes, MOCK CAT`s/SIMCAT`s, reading for TISS prep....and the list goes on...God save me!!!!!!!!
But saw "IQBAL" and hey got motivated...I have a DREAM called CAT/TISS and I will make it happen.
HEY PRATSY: You seem to be pondering over shelling out 12.5k. I understand that u have already spent an equal amt. in CL, and hence the dilema....But, but what is the cost of a lost opportunity? I think it cant be evaluated.
In my case, my parents have shelled INR 30k for Commerce classes, so that I do well. Then about 16k with IMS. Now with Prof K, it will be 12k for GD/PI and cos I also want to be a part of TISS 45 days separately, I have to shell out 8k in addition. All that adds to a big amount. Not that my parents are big shots, they are like most middle class parents, who hope that their kid achieves his dreams and so dont back out when it comes to spending.
But at the end of the day, I WANNA MAKE IT BIG.......and my parents say that they have no issues in spending on me, provided I give them ROI, by securing admission to a good B-school. Hey, that makes sense.
So PRATSY all the best.....take an informed decision. Does this help??????????
Bye.

hey dilip,
this is a TISSian, 1st yr student n an engineer myself.....u asked abt engineers having a 'foothold' in HR.....well, if u mean to ask that if enggs have any added advantage in the HR field, then i'd say therez no such advantage or disadvantage...it's just ur aptitude and how u apply urself...and infact i think this fact is equally applicable to all fields, be it marketing, finance or systems...yeah having good analytical skills always helps, but then u dont have to be an engineer to have them...right?
our batch has 40% engineering graduates, and the senior batch has a similar figure too...
good luck for ur prep.....

HI,
Back after a while
Though keen on TISS, had filled up CAT form. And guess what, have actually started preparing. Well, CAT will evade me, but the writtens will help me in case TISS has the objective test.
Hey things have slowed down on this thread......Looks like CAT FEVER is high.
Is there anyone on this thread from Pune??????
Thanks.

HEY,
Yes indeed the responses have dwindled on this thread. Where are u....PRATSY/PRAGS/FIGHTTOFINISH,SO KOOOL,SAILOR and the gang.......
Looks like u are busy with CAT. Keep on chipping atleast once a week....This way there would be some action on this thread. C`mon TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once the big exams are over by mid end Dec, I suppose the responses here will multiply.
Any way, RAMKRPA/ARUN/YAHOO....Whats happening at TISS???How was ur seminar and are ur exams over?????
