hey ppl Q from me, maybe already repeated, i heard the procedure for this weekend is a) Essay Tests b) Objective tests

Is that all? Also heard the GD/PI results will come out on 18march based on the test results... is there any change to this schedule?

hey...kool to hear that someone from hyd to b'lore how r going i m planning to go by bus..didnt gte my tickets done..but will start on efriday evening..obviously back on sunday eveng office on monday..
i m planning 2 get a volvo bus ticket done..tell me hwr u've gt urs done..i have frend s2..though i din't ask big deal can find out goin a day earlier right!!

Just wanted to give everyone a brush up on the recent Budget.

Report 05-06
.Agriculture growth at 2.1%.
.The foodgrain output is at 209.5 MT.
.Savings are up at 21.9% of GDP.
.FY06 GDP growth is put at 8.1%.
.Manufacturing growth seen at 9.4%.
.96% of Golden Quadrilateral to be completed by June this year.The entire project will be completed by 2008
.FM says barring mining, all sectors are performing satisfactorily
.To aim for 10% economic growth

.Tax-GDP ratio to go up to 11.2% from 10.5%
.FY'07 non-plan expenditure estimated at Rs 3,91,263 cr
.FY'06 revenue deficit at 2.6% vs estimated 2.7%
.Plan expenditure of Rs 1,72,500 cr Non-plan expenditure Rs 3,70,847 cr
.Fiscal Deficit for 2006-07 at 3.8 per cent of GDP at Rs 1,48,686 crore and Revenue Deficit at 2.1 per cent at Rs 84,727 crore.
.Total expenditure for the coming year at Rs 5,63,991 crore.
.Defense allocation has been increased by Rs 6,000 crore to Rs 89,000 crore with allocation for capital expenditure raised to Rs 37,000 crore

Allocations, Incentives & Initiatives
·Educational allocation up 31.5% to Rs 24,115 cr
·To double farm loans in 3 years To cut 2 bps on agri loans of upto Rs 1 lk
·Policy changes will attract more FDI in infrastructure
·To raise old age pension from Rs 75 per month to Rs 200 per month.
·To consider taking Hyderabad Metro under the NURM plan
·Rs 100 cr Fund To Help Tea Growers
·To double farm loans in 3 years Short term credit to farmers at 7%
·RIDF gets Rs 4000 cr for rural roads
·Special new NABARD credit line for self help groups

·Textile allocation increased by Rs 100 cr to Rs 535 cr
·Creation of textile parks on the anvil
·Higher TUF allocation to benefit textile sector
·Services SMEs to be treated at part with manufacturing SMEs
·EGoM to be set up for cluster development
·Cluster model for manufacturing and industrial townships
·Food processing to be top priority sector for bank credit
·Food processing to be treated as priority sector
·Excise cut on packaged food, good for food product manufacturing cos
·NABARD to get Rs 1000 cr corpus for food processing
·Tourism plan spending at Rs 830 cr
·Focus on tourism to help hospitality sector
·Refinery sector to get boost - Will promote FDI
·Policy Rationalisation to benefit Telecom Players

Tax Cuts

·No change in personal, corporate income tax rates
·Customs duty on manmade fibres down to 10% from 15%
·Duty on packaging machines down to 5% from 15%
·Plastics duty down to 5% from 10% Duties on refractories down to 7.5%
·Tours & Travel cut down to 5% vs 20% Lodging & Boarding cut to 5% vs 20%
·Excise duty on instant food cut to 8% Aerated drinks excise duty cut to 16%
·Import duty on ores, concentrates cut to 2% from 5%
·Duty on inorganic chemicals cut to 10%
·Excise duty on footware reduced from 16%to 8%positive for footwear companies
·Cut in excise duty on alloy steel; Positive for auto, auto ancillaries
·Excise duty on small cars cut to 16% from 24%. Small cars to be cheaper by about Rs 15,000 to Rs 40,000 positive for auto sector
·Customs on PTA, DMT and & MEG cut to 10% from 15%
·Fertilizer subsidy in FY'06 at Rs 16254cr
·Excise cut on Anti-AIDS, cancer drugs; Positive for pharma cos
·Power sector to get extended benefit under section 80IA
·Excise duty abolition on branded foods
·Duty cut on iron ore
·Duty cut on vital drugs


Tax Increase & Inclusions

·To widen the tax net Service tax on: ATMs, Share trasfer agents, PR firms
·Service tax rate hiked 12% from 10%
·The services sector is estimated to contribute 54 per cent of GDP
·Excise duty on cigarettes raised by 5%
·Countervailing duty of 4% on all imports of excisable goods
·To levy countervailing duty of 4% on oil imports
·Imposition of excise duty on computers @ 12% likely to hit the sector
·Cess on domestic crude oil hiked by Rs 700/tn
·STT hiked by 25% from existing levels
·Additional services to be covered under tax would also include maintenance and management, registrars, share transfer agents and bankers.
·Sale of space or time for advertisements other than in the print media, sponsorship of events by companies other than sports events will also be covered under the service tax net.
·International air travel (excluding economy class passengers), container services on rail excluding the railway freight charges, business support services are a few other services that are proposed to be included.
Personal Wealth

No change in personal tax

·Fixed deposits in scheduled commercial banks with at least five year maturity will get tax exemption for savings under section 80C of Income Tax Act.
The Rs 10,000 exemption limit for investment in pension funds under Section 80CCC has been removed but these investments would be brought under Sec 80C subject to a ceiling of Rs 1 lakh
Proposals under direct taxes estimated to yield Rs 4000 crore in 2006-07 and under indirect taxes Rs 2000 crore.

Me too fm Hyd goin to Blr on the 3rd evenin. Any more hydis lets meet up in Blr on Saturday.Atleast we'll have a friendly face at the center. Or can we meet up tomorrow itself?

Kidoredo, even I had booked my ticket on train but was waitlisted at 2 and so cancelled it coz there's no point.

Hi Prathi,

I am travelling by B'lore Express on Friday ( Waiting list still though) . Yeah.. probably even I will be looking for the venue a day earlier. May be we can meet in B'lore if we have to search for the venue. What say?

hey am one of those who still hvnt got the admit cards.the tiss office ppl say that get ur registration no.(which can be seen from the list of candidates given on the site) and any ID.they'd b provided with admit card photocopies on the spot.for that i'd suggest all such ppl shud try reaching slightly bfore time(just my personal advice).however the offcie ppl also said u still might receive it bfore 5th so dnt worry.they've sent all the admit cards by snail mail a week back.
