COngrats to all those who are thru... and all the best to ppl in the waiting list (if aT all theres 1).

Hope every1s fine.
Hey... nowz the time to decide. They have just given us 6-7 days.

Some concerns that need to be discussed

1) -- What about the loans.. I was talking to a gentleman, Robert, the director... He said that though the actual interest rate for ne bank is around 10-10.5, at BIM trichy manyu banks give it at a competitive rate of 6.5%.:smile: .. ne1 who has an idea..
2) -- They have menioned in the mail..."Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you are provisionally selected for the one year PGDBM programme offered by Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Bangalore Campus.".... what about the 4 months extension to this course.. no mention.. DOES ne1 have a clear picture.... I require the granular details... as to what all options we will have after 12 months... there was somewhere a mention of University of Wales/
3) -- I could c the selected ppl to be 63.. they said the number of ppl called wre 200.. I could find all my friends' name in the list... Ne1 u know has not been selected or is in the waiting list.
4) -- How many ppl from BIM,Trichy waiting list r thru?:whatthat:
5) -- Is the institute gonna arrange for our Laptops or we ourselves have to manage? how much will a WIFI add to our expenses?
6) -- I think most of us are not from Bangalore.. what abt acco.?
7) THE PRIME CONCERN -- CAFERTERIA??

Guys Do participate... I think we need a discussion before shelling out such an amount.

anyways frm my group i think only 5 gt selected and i know 2 other guys who cld make ths time
and they hve hostel 4 outstatn students so u cn go and c once
and its claerly mentnd in prospects tht u hve to arrange ur laptops by ur self
and its also wriiten tht caferteria s near college nt inside ( remember tht small tea stall )

The fee structure seems to be very complex... My DI skills went for a toss.!!!!

well i dnt dnt think i will b join coz everythin seems to b very weird

they hve increased the fee th 3...........,i mean with out any reason

apart frm tht its only pgdma ,its nt written anywhere tht i m join a mba course

I have already sent the dd.. .. u gt three type of MBA degrees PGDBA/MA/BM or MBA or MMS.

even at the IIMs its PGDBA... i think that should not be an issue.

As far as the fees is concerned... yeah even I feel its too high.. but v shud not forget that its an accelerated course.. and the duration is only 1 yr.. so if we land up a good job.. i thnk we should be able to recover the > 4.5-5 lakhs in 1 yr.

however, its ur call.. I know 5 of my friends who have got selected and they are joining..

Also, tell me if ne1 u know is not joining.. Can u invite them to this thread.. would like to have their inputs also.

thats all for now.. I appreciate ur participation.. the thread has kinda gone dead..

BIM Bangalore is too expensive& i'm conserned about its return on investment. the BIMtrichy people said -it's an BMA with BIM providing the deploma & not BIM. ppppppppppplease people help me out either 2 join or not. please call me at 09831713437 0r sms ur no. so that i can call. its URGENT SO PLEASE REPLY AS QUICKLY AS U CAN

Hi Souvik,

The degree is provided by BIM and not BMA+BIM. And, with a brand name like BIM, u neways dont have to go doors showing ur certificate. wat say trichy ppl?
I think we all should be placed 2-3 months b4 the completion.

As I have said earlier, the course is expensive. but we should not forget that its a 1 yr accelerated course and we save the remaining 1 yr to recover at least the fees back. I reckon the expenditure for this yr to be around 4.5 lacs gross, i.e. total fees (if paid in 1lacs + rest) ,3.1+ Wifi Laptop ,41k + personal expenditure. for details.. plz read the article on Pagalguy about converting all 2yrs MBA to 12 months. that will clarify more.:smile:

This time Trichy's avg went to about 4.5 lkhs/anm. I dont claim with defination that it will be the same for us.. but not to forget that BIM had 2 issues, location & infra.. and the bangalore branch is a perfect answer to that. It is located adjacent to whitefield.. so I think ppl taking systems play it safe. and the cost that u pay is for the improved infra.. ( WiFi + Hot spot). think the avg will cross 4.5 here.:grab:

i mean we have so many examples that some branches of an institute do well and other dont

u cnt b sure of anything bt since it s a branch of a good institute..................................
hopes are always there

so with this hope i have decided to join

lets c and hope 4 the best

if u have any idea when the classes will be startin do let us know

or any idea abt the hostel ( i mean the locatn and all )

sorry for the late reply.
hey.. there are no facts to know.. ours will be the first batch.. my point is that :"as there are no actual facts, we either have to believe what they say or apply our own brains". so if we actually think.. theres nothing that BIM, Bangalore lacks.. It has locational advantage.. nice Infra.. quality faculty..etc.. and behind all this a brand like BIM..
1 thing that remains to be done is build corporate relations.. .. that task i think wil require our efforts also... so that can happen only once the college gains momentum...

the classses sommence on 7th OCT..
5th/6th -- registration.
the hostel is located at Indiranagar.. which again is 7kms from the institute (u know more).. However, I think arranging for ur own accom. is more feasible. so if its not compulsory.. I am not going for the hostel thing..
I also recieved the laptop quotations..
I also enquired about the laptop prices in bombay..
The economy model in the quotation is not manufactured by Compaq nemore.
It has been replaced by 1 with some enhancements.. Widescreen,etc. costing 35k (excluding WiFi)
