Had my interview today at chennai, was in the first slot. I think they were expecting arnd 48 opeople in the first slot so they divided us into groups of 12 each ...
first they just took r call letters and smat id card, (that reminds me like karthik said, please take a printout of ur call letter from the website) and gave us r numbers (1 to 12)
i was the first person in the second batch..
v were taken to a rom made to sit in a so called semicircle... then they gave us some time to relax...
panel consisted of 2 members, one of them looked like the dean ...
v were given two topics and asked to choose any one... the topics were
1. Sex education should be made compulsory in schools
2. It is better to live in a joint family than in a nuclear family.
V were given 2 minutes to decide on the topic, two minutes to jot down points and 20 minutes for the discussion...
I called for a vote to decide on the topic, and it was almost a unanimous vote for the first topic..
The group discussion was pretty ok... there were a few peopple who started creating a ruckus.. wat i observed was there were 2 people who became too aggressive .. one of them started pointing fingers and the other one jus wouldnt let anyone else speak!! like.. he was interrupting almost everyone who spoke... i managed to put in 2 points... and then again there was a ruckus.. i tried telling them twice that they were creating a racket... they also said yes and then continued the racket !!
anyways... ultimately i was asked to summarise...
after that v were called for the interview one by one...
my interview went off very well...
again a panel of 2 members (different from the gd panel)
these two were also quite accommodating...
some of the qtns i was asked were :
1: u graduated in 2003.. wat have u been doing since then?
2: What is ur job profile like now ? What are your responsibilities?
3: What is the advantage of PeopleSoft HRMS (i work in the PeopleSoft domain)
4: Wht do you intend to specialise in?
5: Why HR and not systems ( i said i was interested in HR)
6: Do u think it is possible to plan in the HR field, as in.. do u think u can actually plan for training and such stuff when there is such high attrition rate in the industry?
7: If u get through to a full time mba course, do u think it is worth the investment considering the fact that u are already earning well?
8: After an MBA in HR which industry wud u like to get into?
9: What will your job profile be like after u do an mba in hr ?
10: Imagine the following scenario: U are an HR manager, and a lot of people are quitting.... how would u tackle such a situation?
11: Thanks( then i jus greeted them and went away)
Thats about it i guess... the entire thing lasted arnd 5 - 10 mins, not more than that.. on the whole it was very gud... as in i had a gud feeling .. i d k wat the panel felt
alteast for work-ex people the feedback i got frm pepole there was that they were only asking general work ex related qtns... even freshers were mostly asked qtns related to their area of specialisation i guess... dint hear of anyone being asked techie qtns..
Hope this was of some help!
Gud luck to all of u who r yet to attend it!
