Hi everybody , my name is vaibhav bachani , final year computer engg. student at NSIT , Delhi. my question to all the fms students : is it necessary to join a coaching institute or to buy notes for preparation of any mba entrance exam? it was posted in this thread that total intake for general catarogy students in fms is 60 students per year.I also wanna know that how many do they shortlist for the interviews and gd.

Hi Manish,

As far as my knowledge goes, it doesn't matter if it is FMS or any other B School, only full time work experience will be considered. This is cos many forms asks one to fill only the full time work-ex (with an exception to SPJ which asks for part time work ex but seperately from full time work ex) .

Also my feeling is your current year of MBA will not be considered as work experience (full time or part time).

Cheers,

neo

Who said?? if u have enuf practice by urself then u dnt need any coaching classes.but check if u have enuf conviction for self, u can always take course material from sm1 or net. Polish ur basic fundas and then practice like hell, then no doubt u will have me as ur senior

Abt shortlisting, as per the trends FMS takes students interviewd:selected ratio as 8:1. so for 90 seats, 720 students will be interviewed. but no concrete info abt it, this is the trend with high a priori prob of happening this time too

Hi Vaibhav and Others,

I feel it would be pertinent for us now to discuss only about the FMS Admission test. It makes better sense if we can direct our energy towards the test and towards the GD/PI after the first hurdle is cleared !!!!

Cheers,

neo

Well, I got this info from FMS site.
http://www.fms.edu/programmes/msfulltime_apply.php

Important Dates
Sale of Forms: From 29th November, 2004
Last Date of Receipt of Forms: 31st December, 2004
Date of Entrance Test: 30th January, 2005 Time: 14:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs

But according to the Hindu, FMS exam is on 13th and 14th of January. Plz tell us which one to go by. Iam planning to apply for both the courses of FMS for the simple reason that is damn worth evry single penny of the 1000 bucks that I will be spending on 2 application forms. How many of u will be applying to both FMS exams?

PS:Mods can u plz insert a poll here.

PS2: I heard somewhere that FMS has seats reserved for DU candidates and permanent residents of Delhi but the site once again contradicts this. can someone plz explain.

As posted in the attached ad above, whatever that ad says, stands firm, rest is a fallacy, site will b updated soon.

And for ur discussions, u can open a new thread. Over here, we from FMS North campus batch only ( MS course is in South campus) ans ur queries. So pls maintain the purpose here.
