Best people to ask would be XLRI PMIR junta. It is not easy according to me to get into strategic consulting. HR consulting is at a lower level to do with job search though its called consulting. At a higher level you would be evaluating company HR policies and doing some good work. Monitor, Gallop etc are some organizations which I believe do good work in HR consulting. There are many other good names whcih I am unable to recollect. But point is to understand what HR consulting is and that it is not similar to strategic consulting (aka mck, bcg, bain and likes).
