fabulist says
I actually did some research on MAT last year so i have some idea. First of all sorry to dissapoint you but i could not find a single good institute under MAT. But, a few okay types are:

1.SCMS cochin
2.MS ramaiah,bangalore
3.ALLIANCE
4.IIRM,manasarover
5.BIMTECH
6.EMPI

Welingkars/amity are the best among the group

I might have missed an odd one or two but let me say it again ... none of these institutes are even comparable to the good ones under CAT/XAT/ATMA.... so please be wary of these inst.. and better go for them only if u have to....

eyeopener says
As far as the good institutes in MAT are concerned, My list is :

1- Welingkars, Mumbai
2- Amity, Noida
3- Bimtech, Noida(I am in favour becoz it has shifted to new campus and it has some good faculty)
4- IILM,(only delhi campus)
5- SCMS, Cochin
6- Alliance, Bangalore
7- M S Ramaiah, Bangalore
8- Christ, Bangalore

Some MAT gyaan from my side
1.MAT is the only exam that conduct 4 times in a year i.e. FEB,MAY,SEPT,DEC
2.MAT is going to be CBT as well as paper pencil test from this Sept session.
3.DEC and FEB MAT includes the most and reputed institutes.
4.FEB MAT can be converted into CET score.

Check this out puys-- interesting find at NDIM. I haven't come across such a frank placement list from a B-School, perhaps the only good point about NDIM here. See this link for 2006-08 placements, scroll down the list:

There are folks who are listed as "Not Employable" see S.No. 45, & 68.
One's opted for higher studies at S.No 103. Then there are some who perhaps ran around with their CVs to get a better deal offcampus (Dissatisfied with the placements perhaps?), examples at S.No. 32, & 76.

http://www.ndimdelhi.org/2008.xls

Average emoluments at 6.15 lac. Nonsense! I won't get that much at SIBM or NMIMS today with the recession. They quote a US$ 72000/annum salary (I don't know which fool would offer that to a student from NDIM). That single placement, as they claim, converted to Indian rupees jacks up the average placement figures.... but most newbies here won't understand really.

New Delhi Institute of Management

PS-All posts are taken from the previous thread.so no personal post or offense from my side.

SCMS
SCMS as regards to Return of Investment is a very bad option, what it is good for is its Infrastructure, and some of the faculty. In cochin and kerala it can be regarded as the best management institute.

Here are some facts:

  • Details of fee, as approved by State Fee Committee, for the Institution Rs. 105000 per semester
  • Number of seats sanctioned with the year of approval.
    120 seats ; 2008
  • Number of seats : 120

Total Number of students placed (2007) : 56
Maximum Salary : Rs. 35000/‐ p.m.
Minimum Salary : Rs. 20000/‐ p.m.

Total Number of students placed (2008 ) : 59
Maximum Salary : Rs. 48000/‐p.m.
Minimum Salary : Rs. 30000/‐p.m.

(source, http://www.scmsgroup.org/docs/SSTM%2...TRY%202009.pdf)

expect the fees to come up a notch and placements to come down a notch....

hope it helps,
Shoaib

PS : to be noted, just approx 50% of batch placed[/QUOTE]

APEEJAY

For ppl below 50% in grad
OK, look at this one here:

http://www.apeejay.edu/asm/misc/Mand...disclosure.pdf

Read page 5.

Weightages:

Acads: 25%
CAT/MAT score: 50%
GD: 10%
PI: 15%

Total: 100%

Go it? Target MAT colleges like these. Do well in GD/PI, & with good CAT/MAT scores, you will make it. Strategize your life priorities, make up for your past poor performance by hard work, & you'll do well in life. ATB.[
