re: Good MAT B schools[2009-10] - 23-07-2009, 02:24 PM

Now its a high time gor the college related info and for that we are going to post all the important info of specific college in a single post to make things better.
lets start with
Asia pacific

[QUOTE=Scorpio_19;1408363]For those who are interested in joining Asia-Pacific on selection, please keep in mind that fees for 2 years is Rs.7 lac+1.5 lac approx. B & L. Keeping that in mind, check out the placements for the current year from their website, mostly in the range of 2.5-4.5 lac, with some exceptions:

..:: ASIA PACIFIC INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT ::..

That's an ROI of 30-50%.

Please be alert about placements at MAT colleges, check their websites regularly, & post whatever info. you have on placements out here, to keep everyone informed. This is of important significance, because these institutes have hiked their fees in the recent past, taking a cue from the IIM fee hike. ATB.

An interesting perspective on MAT colleges. Puys who are newbies at the MBA admissions game may find it useful. Most MAT colleges as many of the veterens know 'fight' for the same pool of aspirants, the non-IITian, non-St.Stephenian wallas, et all. They start their admission process early as compared to top level institutes, hold 3-4 rounds of GD/PI's right from January-June of each year, declaring results in tranches for each round, & demanding that successful bakras pay up mostly about 1 lac+ as the first installment within 10 days or a fortnight at most, or vacate their seat to the next candidate. This leaves most successful applicants in a dilemma (Especially those who fill/submit forms early, & sit for the first round of GD's in January). They have multiple calls from MAT institutes, all institutes eager to get a share of the pie. So many pay up the fees of over a lac, may get admission elsewhere in the never ending round of GDs, & suddenly decide that ins. Y is better than ins. X for which they paid up. This is nowadays largely due to discussions on PG about institutes & relative grading, & an uncertain frame of mind of newbie aspirants-- "Where do I land up eventually??" Illustrating with an example of how exactly it happens, here you are:

..:: ASIA PACIFIC INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT ::..

Asiapacific Institute, Delhi, has already announced the results for the round of Gds held on 21-22-23 January 2009. I'm not aware how much time these guys will get to pay the first installment of fees, or the quantum involved, its not clear from the site. There are 39 successful puys, total seats here are about 300 for all non-executive courses. So, you can see that we are not yet through with January, & many more Gds scheduled for the next few months. I've been keeping tabs on the site, for some days so that I could illustrate my viewpoint here with an example, there are many more "Asia-Pacifics" scattered all over India, doing the same. To add, their submission form deadline was about 31st January, now they've extended it to 5th of February 09, & will definately be extended again & again till they "fill" up all 300 seats.

..:: ASIA PACIFIC INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT ::..

So guys, you could be having multiple call options from MAT colleges, OK, but please time your applications in such a manner that you don't end up wasting your parents' dough due to an uncertain frame of mind. Ponder about it before you apply, 10 apps. today alone could set you back by 15000 bucks at least.

This post is for newbie applicants, who are new to this mad, mad world of business mangement. Cheers.

Edit: 11-2-2009:

Check this out now:

..:: ASIA PACIFIC INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT ::..

I cannot find the 'GD/PI' results icon any more, it's been removed. It shows that the institute guys are active on PG, & have taken some kinda offence to my post here. It only goes to prove management & ethics don't go together in practice. Ethics looks good only in B-School classrooms. Take my words with a pinch of salt.

Alliance

For Alliance ...
Aggregate percentile = 80%
With a minimum of 60% in Language
Above 60% throughout in academics

ppl got even 15000 pm this year i.e. 2008-09,so its was really a very hard time for them.as the fee is 11 lacs.

EMPI

Hi Guyz!!!

I managed to score 94.2 in Feb MAT...I've just got into EMPI B-School (PGDBM-AICTE approved)...The B-School is pretty much decent...theyhave a swimming pool, tennis court, squash court...the program is completely residential which is compulsory...EMPI was ranked 30 by businessworld magazine in 2004-2005...

http://www.businessworldindia.com/b_..._article32.htm

the coll seems to be decent...they are associated to Gargi coll in Delhi...EMPI though is located in Chattarpur(Mehrauli)...placements are decent enough, if & only if one has a gud track record during the course...its one of the better colleges in MAT...after AMITY & BIMTECH...EMPI has a intake of 120 students for PGDBM...EMPI also has a AdCOM course...I guess that course has an gud industry interface......staying in the hostel is compulsory as the program is fully residential...

average is 3.2lacs and fee is 7.2.so dont hope a great ROI there.

NO GK never added to aggregate score or percentile.

IILM-Lodhi road and gurgaon

hey hi...choose iilm very carefully..there are many fake institutions who call them as one of the iilm's...there are only three branches of iilm - iilm gurgaon, iilm lodhi road and iilm gsm noida...

I would like 2 clear a bit more things.....der r only two iilm's.....
one is related to Rai group and the other group is hvin campuses in noida delhi n gurgaon .....iilm which is run by rai group is hvin more than 30 campuses in india n the quality of education is also pathetic........so only go for noida ,lodhi road or gurgaon

IILM has managed to provide placement to large number of its student even when the economy is not that sound. And I am not just saying but trying to refer to the record that has been provided by the college. And also I have witnessed how inquisitively the placement cell is functioning to provide placement to its students.

JIMS-Rohini

For JIMS-Rohini PGDM course details, plz follow below link -
..:: Welcome to the site of Jims – Jagan Institute of Management Studies ::..

JIMS is definately a value for money college. Its not growing as fast as other colleges in the same league but still its worth giving a try.

The av. placements is 3.5 lacs.
Its fees is 3.9 lacs.

Its infrastrucure is not as great as other colleges like Amity or asia pacific, but is definately comparable with NDIM.
The faculty is quite decent in comparison to other colleges. Last year they one from FMS.

Hello everyone

Jims Rohini is taking very high cut off 80%tile> CAT or 640+ in MAT
this makes it different from others,
but they don't have their own hostel...............
sb plz give more info regarding this colge?
i have found some ppl saying this colge is not not good bt
their selection criteria seems to be rigorous and make me think gd abt
institute.............

i have been there, students there told me that average is around 3.5 above and highest been above 5 lakhs.its fee is around 3.9,faculty is also good as compare to other Mat insti.

NDIM

Check this out puys-- interesting find at NDIM. I haven't come across such a frank placement list from a B-School, perhaps the only good point about NDIM here. See this link for 2006-08 placements, scroll down the list:

There are folks who are listed as "Not Employable" see S.No. 45, & 68.
One's opted for higher studies at S.No 103. Then there are some who perhaps ran around with their CVs to get a better deal offcampus (Dissatisfied with the placements perhaps?), examples at S.No. 32, & 76.

http://www.ndimdelhi.org/2008.xls

Average emoluments at 6.15 lac. Nonsense! I won't get that much at SIBM or NMIMS today with the recession. They quote a US$ 72000/annum salary (I don't know which fool would offer that to a student from NDIM). That single placement, as they claim, converted to Indian rupees jacks up the average placement figures.... but most newbies here won't understand really.

New Delhi Institute of Management

As i hav asked d senior dey said dat in dis recession period d avg.package is around 2.2-2.5 n during general period it was around 3.5- 4 lkhs

PGDM course is good but dont take their PGDM+MBA course

seats are 240 and they are distributed as 120+60+60
