To add to it, If a certain guy gets shortlisted for 2 courses, can he jump from one course to another?

Also, if you want insider information, just talk to 2nd year students. U know how many companies have rejected welingkar this time. Many companies which came at our time have not come this time.
I would rather focus on hard facts. Also, as to why Im anonymous here is simple. No one likes to reveal themselves when taking a stand against any college be it welingkar also. Also, rather than listening to ur seniors, Amlan I think you are just buying what I heard. I know far more seniors than you know intimately and many of them curse Welingkar openly in the job market. I dont do that for I have respect for the college. Some of them also have the satisfaction of being placed by our Director but still crib.
This time finance placements are real bad and no one wanted to touch welingkar for Hrad core finance. None of the Mankikar students got placed in Equity reserach and my source is backed up by Money Life Article which published the same.
Amlan, I am not going to get into a tiff with you. Im clearly seeing you are close to the Director being a Gsec. I know so called entreprenurs from Weschool who basically join their dads business and dont even run it well. I will not call them spoilr rich people because they have not seen life.
My dream is to see Weschool as the best college in India so I want to encourage people through these forums to give feedback and thats only how weschool will change.
Anyways merit students and those that dont lick the Director end up hating college but do U know something Amlan, these are the only people where Welingkar is where it is and not beacuse of management quota.
And guys, please secondcheck the facts given by people of Welingkar or any school to you. They are highly inflated and pretty much not upto the mark.

I usually don't reply to a critical post in this thread as I am not a part of WE yet so my sphere is just limited to life outside WE.
But I couldn't resist myself from noticing the self contradictory remarks given to the analogy above.
The person above begin as citing himself having an experience of two years as to signify that his understanding and knowledge level has an advantage over many others. But my friend citing that many companies did not visit the WE campus this year does not imply that WE has lost credentials. If you must but notice that we have had Recession this year, a major factor for companies to not to recruit, not just at WE but elsewhere as well.
The fact that some people criticize WE openly is a far better deed than criticizing anonymously as it shows one's honest, courage, genuineness by being open and in public.
According to the person above meritorious students add to losing credentials at WE. I don't even need to reply to this, this shows the lack of immaturity he/she has and also aptly his/her reasons for being anonymous.
And if you really want to see WE as a better institute than seeking feedback at a PG thread is like having a cup of water to take bath.
Last but not the least, can any of the things posted by you here be termed as a fact? Because one you come under the category of "people of welingkar" and two they could be highly inflated and pretty much not upto the mark.

Hitesh,
U know I dont think U have been in a Bschool before. Im just telling U what one faces in a Bschool. Im just taking an example of welingkar as I used to belong to the college.
By the way, you think Im stupid enough to reveal my name here. Nobody goes out and criticises any school and tries to be a messiah.
I just saw that there was a lot of confusion about Weschool here with people taking extreme stands so thought should clear it out. I dont know how many weschool students apart from 1 here is talking about the college displayng his identity. Im never saying that dont take admission in this school or that. Im trying to help prospective students to get the real picture so that they focus on studies.
If people are not interested about knowing about the school, I wont tell them. But tomm if U guys complain I was right dont blame for stop posting.
As to my experience in work I replied to Amlans post where he cites 2 years of work exp and 1 yar of weschool experience where he knos what glitters and what is gold.
Recession or no recession companies coming to other bschools didnt come to welingkar.
Oh yeah and abot me being fact, why dont U go ask the students of 2nd year. Im sure they are a happy lot as U think.
And I said meritorious students helped build welingkars reputation thats what I was saying.
Anyways U decide what U want urself.

I don't think you read his post properly.
1. I have heard Finance at WE is not held in very high esteem.
2. Whatever he mentions about the management quota students and the ones who suck up to the director, any sane person would agree.
3. Almost every private college inflates its placement figures.
4. Why would someone working in the industry risk his name to take on the institute where he himself did his MBA from? There was a guy in some other thread who left WE after his 1st year and is now joining IIT B. Talk to him,he might give u some insights.
I have the same queries regarding the selection. What if i am waitlisted for say Marketing and make it to say E Biz?
I probably won't be joining WE (The fees are reasonable, that's the ONLY factor.Apart from the fact that i always have the option of avoiding Dahi Handi competitions)

fighting for 30-40 seats with 4000 people???? can u plz tell me the source of ur information....do u really think dat many seats are reserved for the management quota...??? do u really think that an institute of welingkar's stature wud hav survived and build its reputation if 80% of the seats were given out to auction????
and dude i cant really see a reason for anonymous post....do u think its a college ran by gangsters who wud go after ur blood if u start speaking bad about the college, and especially the alumni who now has nothing to do with the college.....why wud they fear anything???? i hav myself written down the areas of improvements and i never was hiding my name....do u think i am under some sort of pressure???
its damn easy to say that it all boils down to luck....dude i made it here not coz of my luck, but cause of my hard work...and there are plenty of others like me here....

Its late in the day and just as I open up the forum to check the activities, I see a flurry of accusations lined up against me. :-) To begin with, I would not defend myself here, my sole purpose here at pagalguy was to give aspiring students a real picture of what the institution is, what its values are and what it stands for and nothing else...
In a way I was trying to pay a debt coz last year I was in a similar (if not same) situation and pagalguy helped me immensely....I formed a group of like minded people and everyday after work, we used to get together and prepare for the gd topics that were updated in the forum....
back then....we did our bit and while the world was talking, speculating and doing guess work, we worked hard....
and now that i am here, am a students representative and i work for the college and not... NOT for any individual...
i dont hav any hidden motives ..... PR guy!!!??? huh...whatever....wish i was....wud hav made some extra bucks.... :-)
i have said enough about the college, now that i can see and sense that am the only one who truly believes in the college and in its ethos and perhaps people somehow tend to believe every negative thing written about the college and every positive thing is taken with a pinch of salt....i now think my job is done...
all the best to everyone....may the best get a chance at welingkar....see you all at the foundation fortnight...mind it...its gonna be rigorous... :-)
i love the college for it has given me so much....i love the college for what it is....and i am not a cribber...

I don't know why you think I did not read the post properly. Anyway, its the difference in perspective. You are just seeing the negatives. While I have heard about the IIT-B guy already and I don't mind agreeing to point 1 and 3, I don't agree completely with your point 2 and 4. Well if he wouldn't risk on taking the name in open than he can only fake about to others in open which brings to point 2, sucking up your faults. Think about it.
