hey newbie
i'm sure pg doesn't allow comparison between colleges, although im not sure if comparison between 2 courses is allowed
anywhose, pgdbm and mms - both have their pros and cons.. stressing on the "pro's"
but ultimately, it's an MBA

you're right
Please don't take this as some sort of researched fact or anything but indeed welingkar pushes their pg students over MMS
again, take it for what it's worth. there's no way i can validate it

I was about 2 strt a new thread 4 posting the foll. query but then noticed this 1 and thought it bettr to continue here....
So here's my query:
Guys I am a BE grad frm Mumbai University.
Now the kind of scores that i am currently getting in my mocks are certainly not going to get me into the better B-skools like NITIE,MDI etc. However i do stand a good chance of gettin into the PGDBM course of colleges like KJ Somaiya, Welingkar & Sydenham (they take the CAT score for these courses)
But the same colleges also offer the MMS course in which i can get thru CET. Now puys, I want your opinion about whether PGDBM or MMS course is better? (only considering KJ Somaiya , Welingkar and Sydenham)
Here are a few pros that i feel MMS has ovr PGDBM:
1)MMS is a post-grad degree while PGDBM isnt. So if i do an MMS, i will b recognized as a post-graduate, while PGDBM does not gv me this advantage.
2)MMS is university recognised, while PGDBM recognition is based only on da college.
And here are a few pros that i feel PGDBM has ovr MMS:
1) I went to the websites of KJ,Welingkar and Sydenham and found dat the PGDBM courses of these colleges have better placements (in terms of pay package) den their MMS courses. Also which course has better recognition in da industry? I feel due to the post-grad advantage, the MMS course definitely has an edge ovr PGDBM even though the MMS pay package is slightly lower. Am i right in thinking so?
Thnx a lot in advance... | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
