See if you get admission in a college beyond your top 5 choices in CAP 1, you have a choice. If you choose to take admission in it, then you are out of the CAP process, but if you do choose to reject it, then you are eligible for the next round. But if you get admission in any of you top 5 choices in CAP 1, then you are not eligible for any of the subsequent rounds, irrespective of whether you take admission or not.

Well, lets see the advantages of this approach. If you fill up colleges that you're completely sure that you aren't going to get, and then you get in a college at say 6th position in CAP 1, then you have a choice, ie if you do not want that college, then you can reject it and move on tp CAP 2, but then you would be taking a risk there as you never know what college you might end up with in CAP 2. Hence, you must think carefully of your options and decide what might work in your favour. If you want to chose what college you want to take in CAP 1, then take this route, but it has its risks as well.

If ur not sure about taking admission in PUMBA then for CAP-1 don't fill this in ur first five choices......fill it after 5th option i.e. 6th option onwards so that if u not get into ur first five opted colleges then u can try them in the 2nd round.

Hi there,
I don't think you can just fill in options 1 and 2, and then leave out 3,4,5 and then fill in option 6. If you aren't sure of taking admission in a particular college, then do not fill in those options in the top 5. At your score, you do not have a realistic chance of JB or probably even Sydenham. Check out the cut offs for last year and then add around 5-8 marks to get a fair idea of the cut offs this year. Somaiya, Welinkar, PUMBA etc are good colleges and according to me, you should take admission in them if you get it. The point is that after CAP 1, many seats would get filled and hence it would be a risk to await a college of your choice in CAP 2. All the best.
